Writer Credit?
The interface makes it difficult to navigate to the library or any other page in the app while in one of the stories. There may be method to this madness, though.
Partway through CURSED BLOOD, I wanted to see what other stories were available on the app, to decide if I wanted to spring for extra coins. I finally managed to access the home page, and selected another story…
…about another woman, fleeing her past, running a bar in Minnesota, where a handsome stranger comes in and makes her a life-changing offer.
Same plot, no werewolves.
On reading the summaries for the (very few) books available (to be fair, there might have been more, but the interface kept me from finding them), I spotted more similarities.
In the stories themselves, I noticed the word “architecture” used frequently, always to refer to something other than buildings. There was a lot of repetition in the text, summarizing major plot points as if the author was afraid readers wouldn’t remember what they’d read. The style was the same in each book, using lots of partial sentences to convey urgency, for example.
Either there was a heavy-handed editor at work here, or all the stories were written by the same person.
Why wasn’t that person credited? Not even a pseudonym? Using an app to create a single-author collection isn’t a bad idea. Why not be upfront about it?
Unless the stories weren’t composed by a person at all.
AI software has been trained on the work of millions of authors (without their consent or any compensation, sadly). That software has been improving so rapidly that last month’s output bears no comparison to what it can do today. The uniformity of these books’ plot and style and the absence of any author’s credit could be accounted for by various human shortcomings. But I can’t dismiss the suspicion that these stories were not written, but programmed.

Ok app…
Stories seem to be decent. I don’t mind watching adds to read. The amount of adds gets a bit much.
What I don’t like…even if you pay to unlock chapters they still may you watch adds every couple of chapters!!!! Why!?!? You got the money let me read in peace!

Interesting
But I only got through 2 chapters before it said: error, somethings gone wrong.
Even of you pay to read you still get ads in between chapters
What a scam. Pay per chapter isn’t a new concept, and while it may not work for everyone, it’s fairly common to pay for coins to unlock content.
However, this app absolutely taking it too far and forcing users to watch ads in between chapters they have already paid for.
I’d pay money to read, but I am not going to pay money AND watch ads.
I’d go find another app, there are plenty with the same selection of stories.

Ads even when you pay plus maybe AI writing? Avoid this app
I honestly have no problem paying for chapters. What made me uninstall was primarily that almost every chapter I paid for also made me watch an ad. You don’t get to double dip on me. And then also, as I read further, I started noticing signs of things I tend to see in AI writing which I won’t support.

Incomplete stories and no response from support
I got 256 chapters into Whispers in the Dark and then it ended without any conclusion to the story. It just stops. It’s clear from the writing that there should be more chapters, but they aren’t there. I paid to get remaining chapters and was very frustrated that I wasted my money. I don’t mind paying for good content but I do mind that I didn’t get what I paid for.

Horrible Customer Service
I bought a book and added it to my library, but the next day, the book was no longer available on the app. I have emailed the help center 6 or so times requesting a refund and I have yet to receive any form of response. Is this seriously how you treat your customers?! The worst customer service I have dealt with. I would give them negative stars if I could.

Mediocre and always pressing for cash
The books really could be run through a spelling/grammar check that could clean up a lot. It’s annoying to the flow when sentences are repeated or missing words or just don’t make sense. But worst is they call a “chapter” a collection of about 10 pages so a book is hundreds of chapters long and even when they are unlocked they will still pop ads in while reading, and the cost to unlock a chapter is just not worth it. Not for unedited junk.

Do not install
If I could give a zero I would. I downloaded the app after seeing a pop up for Fantales app to read “The Unseen Heir”. After about 50 chapters, the book disappeared from my library. Did a search for it and not even showing up in the app. Sent 2 emails to their help desk with no response. This happened just after they did an update. I finally just deleted the app. Reinstalled it and found the book I was reading. Now a month later, 300 plus chapters in to the book and it’s disappeared again from my library and again from the books the app has. Emailed again. No response from them AGAIN. And guess what, update was just done the night before. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled several times, but “The Unseen Heir” is not showing up. This book has over 600 chapters. I’ve paid for some chapters too. Don’t get this app no matter how appealing the book might be. I’ve got a feeling this may happen a lot and they are getting free money and readers not getting a complete book (and book is showing completed)

Ads and more ads
The are limited ways to get coins to read a book. One is the daily check in of 20 coins but a chapter needs 30 to unlock. Or you could wait 7 hours to unlock a chapter. Another option is to watch 30 long ads to open a chapter. The chapters are very short, 9 small pages!! Not worth the effort. 😡
Much better Apps out there.

Don’t waste your time or money!
I have been trying to read a book for a couple of months. I have even bought coins to try and read more but you don’t get much for your money. Now a problem has occurred and I can’t get any help and cannot get to read the book that I have nearly finished! A real waste of time and money.
Book no longer found after I have paid money to review it
I have been reading a story and now I cannot find it by searching- -sent a note to the app — waited over a week no response. Spent money to read the story — where did it go — fascinating that I have money loaded but cannot finish the book I started — no response. Very disappointing.
Deleted the book I was halfway through reading
Don’t bother with this app. It will delete the book you are reading midway through. No way I am starting another book knowing I might not be able to finish it. No response from customer service either after multiple attempts.
Can be frustrating
It has this reading bonus with candy hearts. It doesn’t work. Says the cost is $.99 and then charges $4.99. Second time I tried said I had 800 hearts and only gave me 250 when I paid. Scam. Stories are good though.
The book is gone
I could overlook the grammatical errors and the fact that you had to wait forever or pay an insane amount of money to unlock a book but now, the book I was in the middle of completely vanished. I went to read it under my saved books and it wasn’t there and I’ve searched for it and it doesn’t even come up. What a waste of time to not even get to read the ending after all. Deleting the app.

Lost book
I was really into one of the books. I paid to unlock some chapters. Got to chapter 108 and couldn’t move further through. Updated app and now book has disappeared and not on site. Really disappointed.
Clean App but too many ads
If I am being fair I like the way the app looks and how the books are presented.
The UI is good. However the way to earn more chapters is disappointing.
Yes, we know they would like a micro transaction to unlock chapters, but with chapters that are only a couple pages and some of the stories are still being written and thus incomplete. 150+ in the on I am on and its is ongoing.
I can buy books either in ebook format or as paper copies for less than it costs in this app.
And should you be willing to watch ads to unlock chapters, the number of ads increases, seemingly infinitely, each time you do this. I am up to eleven ads to unlock a chapter. This makes this app effectively unusable for me.
Oh, yes, you can get a free chapter every eight hours too. I can finish a complete book in less than eight hours. Earning a handful of paragraphs is not satisfying after an eight hour wait.
I would love to support these authors and even this app but it is not worth my time or money to do so.
Two stars because the experience, aside from ads and pay is good.

Whispers in the Dark
Great book but even though I have paid for chapters after 161 I can’t access them!! I have emailed help several times and have received NO RESPONSE!! This is very annoying and I feel like I have been ripped off. Hopefully this gets their attention and they fix the damn app!! I wonder if this happens in all their books?
