Answer a question and the app explains it: why the correct option is correct, why the one you picked was not, and which rule it comes from — SOLAS II-2/3, COLREG Rule 19, MARPOL Annex VI. WHAT A LIST OF ANSWERS CANNOT DO • An explanation on every one of the 4,658 questions, and on 4,652 of them a separate note on each wrong option — written for this app, not copied from anywhere. • 1,217 answers cite the rule they come from, so you can go and read it. • Sound signals you can hear. Nine questions ask what a signal means — the whistle, the bell, the gong. Everywhere else they are printed as a photograph of a horn and left unanswerable. Press play instead. • Diagrams where the question is a picture — the lights, the symbols, the indicator cards — and search across the whole ticket. WOULD I PASS TODAY • An estimate of the score you would get sitting the paper now. It weights each topic by how much of the exam that topic usually takes, so it answers the question you actually have. • The paper itself, timed: 60 minutes, 70 questions, no feedback until you hand it in — the sitting as it is sat. Marked against the pass mark your company asks for, and broken down by topic afterwards. • A review schedule. What you get wrong comes back tomorrow; what you know comes back in three weeks. • Statistics by topic, bookmarks, and a mistakes list that fills itself. WHAT IS COVERED Every rank the computer exam is sat for, named the way your crewing office names it: department, level, vessel. Up to 1,030 questions for one ticket, 4,658 across the catalogue. Deck — Management, for master and chief officer. Operational, for the officer of the watch. Both across twenty vessel types: oil, chemical, LNG and LPG tankers, bulk, container, general cargo, RoRo and RoRo passenger, passenger, pure car carrier, reefer, platform supply, anchor handling, seismic survey and shuttle tankers, with or without dynamic positioning. Engine — Management, for chief and second engineer. Operational, for the watch engineer. Slow speed, medium speed and steam plants. ETO — for the electro-technical officer. BEFORE YOU PAY A fifth of every ticket is open, and the short paper — 25 questions, timed and marked like the real one — is free. You can read the questions, the explanations and sit a paper before deciding. If it is not what you need, you have lost nothing. ONE PAYMENT Each ticket is a single purchase.
