App Shares Private Apple Account Info, with all fax recipients

I was shocked to find out my private Apple account information, including my personal email and phone number, was shared with FAX recipients without my knowledge, and without any kind of notification from the app or inclusion on the Fax receipt. The information is not included, requested or referenced in the Fax preparation tasks and questions, and you are not notified that all your information will be shared. When I contacted support, they first stated it was only for “app use”, but when I asked why my private contact info (which they automatically inserted into the sent fax without any indication showing on the user interface) was added to the “Sender information”, when it was already listed in “app specific” sections of the settings, there was no reply.

FAQ

What can I send as a fax with this app?

You can send PDF documents, Microsoft Word documents (.doc or .docx), and image files such as photos from your iPhone camera. This allows you to fax scanned documents or pictures directly.

How do I send a fax?

Sending a fax is simple: select the document you wish to send, enter the recipient's fax number, and initiate the transmission. The app supports faxing to numbers in the USA/Canada and many international locations.

How much does it cost to send a fax?

To send faxes, you will need to purchase fax credits through the app. The cost of credits can vary, and it is recommended to check the pricing within the application, especially for international faxes, before making a purchase.

What happens if my fax fails to send?

The app automatically and repeatedly retries faxes that do not go through initially, at no additional charge. If a fax fails, it is also recommended to manually call the fax number to ensure a fax machine is actively answering.

Can I send faxes from cloud storage?

Yes, the app allows you to fax documents directly from popular cloud storage services including Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Apple's iCloud Drive.
