New — DoP (native DSD output) - DoP, Pro, under Settings ▸ DoP. Instead of decoding DSD to PCM, the original 1-bit stream is carried inside a 24-bit word to the DAC. A DAC that recognizes the marker strips it and feeds the 1-bit stream straight to its delta-sigma stage. - DoP needs an external DAC that understands it and accepts the carrier rate (176.4 kHz for DSD64, 352.8 kHz for DSD128). When that isn't the case the track plays as decoded PCM instead, and the signal path says so rather than failing quietly. - Connecting a DAC that can carry DoP now asks whether to use it, rather than switching silently — DoP turns the whole DSP chain off. The answer is remembered per device, and the question is only asked when the route genuinely accepts the carrier rate. - The signal path now has a "Device" row: the sample rate the output device is actually running at, plus its name, with a "Resample" row when the OS is converting. This is what the hardware accepted, not what the app requested. New — Playlists - CUE sheet support, so an album ripped as a single file plays as tracks. Each track is a region of the file, and seeking, gapless and crossfade all work within it. CUE sheets over DSD (SACD rips) too. - M3U / M3U8 playlist support. - Playlists appear in the Library tab between Folders and Tracks, found anywhere in the library — including inside album subfolders, where CUE sheets usually live. - Playlists written in legacy encodings (a CUE from a Korean Windows box is CP949, not UTF-8) load correctly. Entries pointing at files this device doesn't have are left out rather than shown as dead rows. New — External folders - Under Library ▸ + ▸ Add External Folder. Any folder reachable in the Files app can be added to the library — including a NAS share, if you've connected the SMB server in Files. Files are read where they are, not copied in, and the folder survives relaunches. - External folders are read-only: no rename, import or delete, and the swipe action is "Remove from Library" rather than "Delete". Removing one never touches a file on that storage. - When the server is off or the drive is unplugged, the folder stays in the list marked Unavailable and comes back on its own once reachable. New — Spectrum analyzer - The spectrum analyzer is rebuilt: far finer bars, smooth 60 fps motion, and an immediate response to the sound. - Detail (bar count), under Settings ▸ Spectrum Analyzer ▸ Detail: Standard (32), Fine (64) or Ultra (96). Defaults to Fine. - Frame rate 30 / 60 FPS. 60 is the default — smoother and more immediate; 30 saves CPU. - Auto-Level eases the reference to recent loudness so quiet passages stay visible. Off falls back to a fixed −60…0 dBFS range. - A peak-hold cap sits above each bar, marking the level it just passed. - The low end (20–50 Hz) reads as a natural curve instead of a staircase. - All of the above live under Settings ▸ Spectrum Analyzer. New — Library - The track list names the dominant instrument instead of the genre. The same on-device model was often wrong about genre and holds up far better on instruments, so the genre guess is gone entirely. - The filter follows: pick from "Instrument" at the top of the Library. A track that comes back with two (Guitar · Drums) is matched by either. - Re-analysis is now a press and hold on the "Instrument" button. It walks the whole library from scratch, so it asks first rather than starting on a stray tap. (The entry under + is gone.) New — Elsewhere - Convolution Reverb now links to two free IR libraries — EchoThief and OpenAIR — with a note on what kind of space each one holds.
