Bad support
The support at field nation is literally the worst. They offer no recourse for negative feedback that can be caused by the malfunction of their app. They will let buyers lie about cancellation reasons and then because your score is lower you get less work. This is actually illegal as I understand it. I suggest that you avoid this platform

I started using Field Nation. I was losing my job with layoffs using Field Nation initially in the first week Garner me over $2000 but they’re terrible system they had in place. I can barely get any tickets now and the people I do get tickets from now pay very low I get treated poorly response times are terrible. The Field Nation app is walkie hasn’t been updated in the half of the year of using it all around. I just would not suggest using this app unless you really have to. oh and get ready clear your cash because this happens for cash issues API here is not good. Get ready to have your phone battery drained with tracking cause this like every other technician app has tracking on it and it’s gonna drain every percentage out of your battery if possibly this app sucks

FN manipulates their PSS scores to favor certain techs
I’ve been on FN for five years. I’ve noticed something nefarious about our PSS scores recently.
Doesn’t matter how many 100s, or 1000s of successful ticket completions you have. I have zero cancellations, 100% success rate and zero negative reviews.
FN will keep your PSS score under 100 so that less successful techs in your area are not overlooked. Born and raised in America, yet I feel like I’m specifically being targeted by their platform due to being part of the American majority, in favor for the other groups.
This is illegal.
Help tickets are not answered on this issue. They ignore your case entirely.

App is broken
I have uploaded proof of insurance on at least 10 different occasions. And yet they still keep asking. And no way to get support.
Providers not getting the respect they deserve
Sadly, many of us providers get poor marks or rated in manners that don’t pertain to anything we’ve done work wise. We really don’t get the respect we deserve. And they charge us so much money for what work we do get now I’ve been with them for years and I get less work now than I ever did before.
Don’t knock it till you try it!
Easy to use and Real Work that pays. Be sure to build a good profile and get on it like you would Facebook or TikTok- put the work in and it will pay off - surprising how much work there is.

This is a real company that pays very well and very fast for technical gig work. I am very very impressed and have completed quite a few assignments with no problems. They even paid me when I arrived at a job to find that a poster I was supposed to replace had already been replaced by customer!

The app is being designed to connect the buyers to work providers which is fair to charge its users a certain percentage of the labor but Field Nation takes out 10.5 % out of the expense as well, so the money that you are charging for fuel and the materials that you are purchasing for the job should not be hit with Field Nation fees. This is theft and must be dealt with.

Great app
Ive been on this app for a while working full time , its been great, there’s alway room for improvement specially the fees on expenses.
App works well, matches buyers and providers
I’ve found a few bugs, the cert system is dated and never pulls my pdf files of completed certs I’ve uploaded, but overall the app works well to match me with buyers that need work done.
When I have an issue with a payment the messages seem to come through overnight which tells me the CX service team is outside the US which is a bit frustrating. Language barriers and such come into play.
But again, overall the app works well and seems to be the best currently out there, seems to be the most used for single-day contracts (I wish I could find more professional providers in the IT/networking field in my area)
There also seems to be many very short contracts that pay well per hour but not enough for a man to make a living by taking one or even two per day. Taking one $125 contract out of town isn’t workable long term for anybody to provide for even themselves. But if you lived in a metro and could stack multiple jobs would be more ideal.

If you’re an IT Professional, don’t waste your time with these people
I’m stopping use of fieldnation entirely. Every time I apply for a posting, it is immediately given to someone else. The only thing I can think of is that I have no history on fieldnation, but how the hell can I get history if I can’t get any assignments to get history. Plus many of the jobs posted are FAR more complicated to apply or qualify for than they need to be, in addition to being far more work than what you’re being paid for. $200 for an ENTIRE re-racking of a server room, including imaging and communicating with the phone support for cutover and quoted at being a 8-12 hour job, with no one else allowed on site to assist…but $200 flat pay, no negotiations…? Yeah, no. Absolutely not, when that job is worth far more than that at a normal company payroll, with support. These “job” posters are on drugs and absolutely insane.

Since I’ve been on field nation I have found that the pay here is great and flexible compared to the average job wages.
