About

Figura tracks your body composition using Relative Fat Mass (RFM) — a metric developed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 2018 and validated against DEXA scan data from over 16,000 adults. It outperforms BMI at predicting actual body fat percentage, and all it needs is your height and waist circumference. No expensive equipment. No guesswork. Just honest data. YOUR DATA, YOUR WAY Everything Figura knows about you stays in your iCloud. There are no Figura servers. Your measurements, photos, and trends sync privately between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit. No ads. No tracking. No selling. BUILT FOR APPLE HEALTH USERS If you have a Withings, Garmin, Eufy, or any other smart scale that syncs to Apple Health, Figura picks up your weight automatically. No manual entry required. Figura also writes your waist measurements and weight back to Apple Health so your data is never locked in one app. TRACK WHAT ACTUALLY CHANGES Weight alone doesn't tell the whole story. Someone losing fat while gaining muscle may see their weight stay flat while their RFM improves significantly. Figura shows you the full picture — RFM, waist circumference, weight, and multiple body composition estimates side by side. FEATURES - RFM dashboard with rolling average and trend analysis - Automatic weight sync from Apple Health and smart scales - Quick Log for daily weight + waist in seconds - Full Check-In with all 11 measurement sites and bilateral support - Measurement guidance — where to measure and how to stay consistent - Progress photos with front, side, and back pose guides - Streak tracking to build a consistent logging habit - Smart reminders — daily nudge, bi-weekly check-in, streak protection - Body composition comparison — RFM, Navy formula, Withings BIA, BMI - Home screen widget showing your current RFM, trend, and streak - Dark mode, imperial and metric support THE SCIENCE RFM was published in Scientific Reports (Nature) by Orison O. Woolcott and Richard N. Bergman. The formula uses your height-to-waist ratio and was derived from analysis of 365 anthropometric indices against DEXA scan data. It consistently outperforms BMI at predicting whole-body fat percentage in both men and women. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE Figura is a personal tracking tool. RFM and all other estimates are calculations, not clinical measurements. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions about your health.
