Used to be awesome
Back when iOS didn’t have any native file handling features or the ability to download content directly from a browser this app was a godsend. Nowadays those features are built in, which makes this app less useful on modern iOS. Plus it hasn’t been updated in 7 years, so there are now bugs too.
For everyone experiencing the “Filer crashes the moment I open it” bug, that is due to incompatible data in your clipboard. Filer will try to paste whatever is in your phone’s clipboard the moment you open the app. Some links (such as YouTube links) cause it to crash as a result. Copy something like a series of numbers from Notes to replace whatever is in your clipboard and the app will open again.

Works great
I’m happy with this. It makes downloading multiple files from a website like archive.org very easy. There are still some quirks, like crashing upon opening, but that’s easily worked around by copying something to a clipboard first. Haven’t had it crash, ever, once I had something copied to the clipboard.
This does exactly what I need, and is the perfect app for browsing/copying/sharing files. The mini web server it includes makes for sharing files with PCs and Android devices a breeze.

After years of use it stopped working
Now I can’t access my saved files.
Ok when it works
Better than nothing.
When it did work, audio would stop if you opened a different app.
Now it crashes each time I open it- even after reinstalling.

Mostly Pointless and Incompatible
Filer used to be my favorite “missing” app from Apple on iOS giving my iPad 1 the much needed presence of a file system. The ability to download and transfer apps was fantastic and the ability to save downloaded data without a computer was incredibly useful.
However since 2018, this app is mostly outdated and replaced by other programs like Safari and Apple’s own Files App. Filer is incompatible with Files and can’t access or view anything from the Files app, meaning a file downloaded on Filer won’t be able to be opened anywhere else on the iPhone. This is terribly outdated.

Failing App
I trustes this App to keep my resume ready to send out when needed o the go. At the moment I am applying for a job and the App will not open. It fails when I click on it to open, just blinks and thats all I get. I tried restarting my phone to no avail. I have always had good luck with this App until now. I am hoping to redo this review soon but as of now 2 stars is being generous.

Warning those those who might purchase
On the latest ios at the time of this writing, with an 11 pro max, this application will randomly not launch. If it doesn’t launch, it doesn’t seem to want to launch until the next day.
The app hasn’t been updated in 4 years and most likely has been abandoned by the developer.
You may want to look into alternative file management software.

As the app hasn’t been updated, it now refuses to open. Make sure you have copies of files in the app if you own it. There’s no support to help with the issue, so it seems my files are lost.

This app has worked great for me for years. But has stopped working since iOS 14.2 update....please update this great little app

Les critiques les moins favorables ne sont jamais les premières de la liste des avis.
Les premières remontent toujours à très loin dans le temps.
Le mensonge et une nouvelle façon de voler les gens pratique répandue chez Apple.
Lorsque qu’on n’es pas certain de la stabilité d’iOS , on attend pour ne pas faire subir les affres de se retrouver avec un cell non fonctionnel.
Tout ce qui fonctionne bien finit à la poubelle avec cette faim d’argent.
Cette soif de pouvoir qui vous caractérise de plus en plus.
Bientôt, Apple ne sera plus mon choix!
J’hésite maintenant à acheter des applications qui finiront volontairement à ne plus fonctionner.
Personne ne sera gagnant à ce petit jeu.
Chez Apple le premier objectif n’est plus d’innover mais de prendre dans les poches de ceux qui les ont supporté pour engranger de plus en plus de cash.

Favorite Great App but not working
Upgraded to iOS 14.0.1 and app has stopped working. It launches but will not come to forefront. Tried deleting and re-installing did not work.

Missing feature
I don’t know why it won’t immediately resume playing downloaded media after pausing for a phone call but every other media player for iOS has this figured out.

Doesn’t connect to Dropbox
I paid for the full version of this specifically so that I could the upload files to Dropbox. Only to find that the app hasn’t been upgraded and it can no longer like to Dropbox. The developers web site no longer exists and no support is available. Don’t waste your money
