What's New in Fire Safe

3.1

Tags anyone can read. Tags: a status page on every extinguisher. Put a tag on an extinguisher and anyone can check it with their phone. The building's responsible person, a fire officer, an auditor or your client holds a phone to the sticker, or points the camera at the QR label, and a web page opens: what the unit is, when you last serviced it, when it is next due, the last monthly check, and how to reach you. They need nothing installed and no account. You get fewer "when was this last done?" calls, a visible record on the wall, and your business name on every unit you look after. How to tag a unit 1. Open the site and tap Tag units. 2. NFC: stick an on-metal NFC sticker (NTAG213 or larger) on the body of the extinguisher, tap the unit in the list, then hold the top of your iPhone against the sticker. That is it; the sticker is written. 3. Labels: tap the unit to give it a QR code, then print the site's label sheet on Avery L7159 stock and stick one on each unit. Every phone can read a QR, so a label suits units where NFC will not read. 4. Pre-coded stickers: stick one on, tap "Scan a pre-coded sticker to link it", and pick the unit. What happens next • The page goes live as soon as the unit is tagged and updates itself every time you sign off a visit. It shows the information from your register and nothing more: your client's name and the site address are never published, only the location text you type for the unit. • Tag units shows every unit's tag state: published, waiting for signal, or needs your attention. • Scanning a tag yourself (Home, then Scan) opens the unit's record straight away, the fastest way to find a unit on a large site. • Replaced a unit? Re-tag it with a fresh code from its form, and the old sticker's page says it is no longer in use. • Stickers written by Fire Safe 3.0 opened the unit in the app only. Tap one and Fire Safe offers to update it so any phone can read it. • Where to buy stickers and how to test one: Tag units, then "Where to buy stickers". • Publishing pages is part of the Fire Safe subscription. Tagging, scanning and printing labels work without it. Also in 3.1 • Mint Books: previewing a certificate while you are still editing no longer creates a draft invoice, and site registers and log books are never invoiced. • Fixes: a unit's Tag row could go blank after a change; the Backup screen's re-import row was hard to read in dark mode.

Idea over execution

Good idea but poor execution. Clip art image looks unprofessional

Needs improvement

There is not enough scope on the certificates to correctly input what is required. Example, on the capacity column it states the unites as “L” this indicated litres. But not all extinguishers are measured in litres, some are kg. On the type of extinguishers there is not Wet Chemical type of extinguisher to choose from. Also the Make of extinguisher does not have all types.

This could be a great app.

This App is close to what I need for my small business. It has some glitches that I wish were fixed. It will just turn off when inputting information and it’s all lost. The calendar messes up some times. It does make quality reports and is simi. Customizable for your business. I like it for the most part.
