These firewalls are one of if not the best purchase I have made for home. I work in Cyber Security and the ease at which you can set this up and secure your family is amazing.
The app runs the entire firewall and makes managing time limits and access to sites a breeze.

Terrible Pair Process
So we put I’ve had a Firewalla going on two years. I get a new phone and try to pair with my existing firewalla. To my surprise, the parenting process is only ‘ wait five minutes while the box turns on’ which indicates that the onboard or the pairing process is related to turning it on. Mine is already turned on.. why do I have to wait five minutes when it’s already turned on?? but that’s not the point why can’t it detect it on either my android or my iPhone to be able to add the device (via Bluetooth)
This is frustrating because then you go to the health files, which are only iPhone based btw, and there’s zero documentation about the problem. I’m having with both my phones.. ME thinks that there should be at least a this is what you should do if it doesn’t pair while it’s on article .. so here I am without being able to review any of the functionality that I am most interested in reviewing. I have a support ticket at least I think what’s a support ticket sent by the app with no response. Is the device working well who knows? Am I getting hacked? Who knows?

No subscription required yet the protection is as good if not better than those I do provide a subscription. A great option for cyber security protection.

High quality hardware and the easy to use app and outstanding support, makes it a no brainer.
App is horrible
App rules don’t update when DST changes. It’s a known issue for years. Can’t believe they still didn’t fix yet. Device works for many things but app is horrible. They don’t even allow local management. They FORCE using an app.

Firewalla enterprise security easy to use, no subscription costs
I had a eero router and basic features cost a extra 200 a year to enable. Firewalla router added everything i wanted and more for free, no monthly fees! Power of Pihole ad blocking network wide but no server required. Everything is faster and they are the best!
Install and go!
I have run other open source firewall solutions in the past which can work great when you roll your own…until you need to unroll your own and fix it when something goes wrong. Firewalla just does the thing, has easy configuration, does not need a subscription after you buy the hardware and is regularly improved with updates and new features.

Great Networking Device
I run a small business and work from home. This device does everything I need, and the access points are awesome. I only wish I had gotten the gold pro! Great for managing family and work traffic.

The eero mesh devices seem to be negating that controls
ChatGPT helped me design the system and after a month of operations there seems to be ways around the security that Firewalla enables that negate the benefit of this device. So far I haven’t found a way to close them off or do anything but speculate. Very disappointed.
Fantastic product!
Love the product, love the app, and even though it’s not optimized for macOS, I’m grateful to have it as an option.
Horrible UX
The simplest things are impossible on this device. I’m an hour into just trying to link my device yo a cloud account so I do t have ti manage rules with my &$?! thumbs. Basic stuff like that shouldn’t be a struggle.
