Great app

The app is simple and easy to use.

Response from developer

Thanks for the review! You can scroll through months back in time. Same for the years.

Great app

The app is simple and easy to use. I will give it 5 stars once I am able to see each past month, what the expenses were, how much money did i spend, where was money spent and so on. Right now you can only see the current month and the yearly overview without exact report of each month.

great app but no widgets?

love the app. wish it had widgets though

Experimental software

Been using this for about half year, but the UI of the app is always changing, some features are missing after updates, looks like an experimental app. Unsubscribed.

Response from developer

Mind sharing which features are missing after updates? I'd love to help. Anyway, I hope you'll find a decent app that meets your needs.

Great app

Just a suggestion: when adding recurrings, the amount of new item added should be subtracted from already lowered total budget amount from that category based on all the recurrings for that category, because right now i have 5 subscriptions but each time i enter new subscription it tells me how much will my total budget be lowered (and does not include how much it already is lowered with other same category recurring items)

This is hands down the best finance tracker.

The app is super fast, beautifully designed, and works exactly as expected. I love the small details and the overall experience. Highly recommended!

Thank you Kevin!

For people who don’t like Excel

I don’t want to learn Excel just to know how much money I’ve spent this month. Five Cents makes it easy to enter expenses and track stuff the way I want. I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have a budget yet. I pay for the premium and you should too!

Response from developer

Thanks for the amazing review! I’m so happy the app works for you the way you want.

Bellissima app, ma…

L’app è davvero bella, l’estetica è fantastica, minimal e senza troppe distrazioni. Do 4 stelle perché manca una cosa: va bene avere il resoconto di ogni mese, ma vorrei visualizzare sempre il totale che ho, altrimenti non ho un quadro generale di tutti i miei risparmi

Response from developer

Grazie per il feedback! Ho intenzione di calcolare il risparmio totale in poche settimane.

I love this app

Amazing UI and great functionality.

Awesome UX , please add widgets

Awesome UX , please add widgets and shortcuts integration, so that users can create automation

Great app!

Very useful, smooth animations and overall stunning! Waiting for new features to arrive.

Please add shortcut support

All the other budget apps do too much, this one is almost perfect. Shortcuts integration would make it perfect, I would love to be able to use the new action button on my phone to log a purchase without leaving the app I’m in.

Response from developer

Thank you for the nice review! I'll definitely consider shortcuts integration in the future.

This app is a gem

This app does what it needs to do: allow us to track our expenses. It does it perfectly, smoothly, with beauty, with harmony. I’ve been waiting for years for an app that would let me easily track my expenses: here it is. A magical app, a gem of the App Store

Disappointed with the latest update

I was really happy with the previous version of the app, but the recent update has changed several things that I liked. Previously, I could easily track my spending by categories on a weekly or monthly basis, but now I can only see a general bar chart for the entire month, which feels less detailed.

Another big change is that before, transactions were linked to specific accounts, so I could clearly see my balances. Now, transactions aren’t associated with any accounts, which makes it harder to track my money.

Additionally, editing a transaction now requires more steps than before, making the user experience less streamlined. I hope future updates bring back some of these features that made the app so great.

Love the concept, but finding issues

When I downloaded this app, it was because it was exactly what I was looking for: An app that (a) did not retain any of my information, and (b) simply allowed me to record and categorize spending. I would be willing to buy the lifetime subscription to it, if it worked properly. (And I will be happy to change my review if it gets fixed.) I am using the app on my iPhone 14. The issue comes in when I try to edit categories or accounts. There is a bug (at least one) in the programming, so far as I can tell, and it is quite obvious. First, in my version of the app (in February 2024) there were originally two of each category and account (that is, there was a duplicate of each one.) This would be no issue if you could edit them. However, it is difficult to change names or add/delete accounts and tell what is going on. When you change the name of an account or category, it does not seem to take effect. Today, I made a change and then restarted the app. That helped, but the labeling is still wonky—if I could figure out how to proceed to make changes to produce the category label I want consistently, even if I had to keep restarting, I would do it. Right now, I haven’t figured out what the right procedure is to get what I want.

To reiterate, I like this app a lot. I do not want something fancy that connects to a bank account—there are lots of those out there. I want this one, and I want it to work right. I will happily give the app 5 stars and buy it, if I can get it to change labels consistently and easily, as I think the developer intended.
