Missing One Thing

I like Timmermerican’s suggestions from a year ago, but what really stands out to me as missing is the lack of sound. Would love to have toggle options to play the note, either when the flash card first appears, when we select the answer, or both. If such a feature is added, I’d bump my review to 5 stars.

Just what I needed

This is a fantastic way to quickly learn how to sight read the notes. The only suggestion I have would be a way to remove the note names from the keys so I can also memorize the keyboard layout along with the notes.

Fantastic

My daughter is learning how to read music and this is a perfect app for what she needs.

Nice and easy to use

This is the app I’m looking for. No ads, no purchases good dev!

Effective and reliable

Highly recommend for anybody who is learning piano, though, I would love to see different instruments/tunings, coming from an alto sax player!

Simple, great

Simple app, exactly what you need to learn notes. One bug though is that if you include ledger lines it automatically starts showing the bass clef too even though bass clef is not selected.

Easy 4 if ….

Hi I am really enjoying this app. However there are no Black keys on the graic display of the keys. I personally feel this would add so much, can you please paint them on. No function required.
Thanks Cliff.

EDIT: Not working with iOS 18.6.1

EDIT: This used to be a great app but it is frozen upon opening under iOS 18.6.1.

Love this simple app! I am a horrible sight reader - especially bass clef - and practicing these every day is really making a difference. The app is no frills but that is exactly what it should be. Couple of ideas for improvement: (1) In the upper left corner where the number of correct and incorrect flash card counts are, it would be nice to add a running total of percentage correct. (2) It would be amazing if the app measured how long it took you to select an answer - and retest you more frequently on the cards that took the longest for you to respond (as well as the incorrect answers). Or alternatively, keep track of the error cards and allow you to drill just those. Keep up the great work!

Start here

A have a few of these apps, but they all expect a certain ability. I was looking for somewhere to start *from scratch*, and I found this. Thanks

Nice!

Straight forward and simple. 10/10!

Simple yet effective!

I’ve tried so many ways to learn piano notes and never manage to stick to them, but this is so simple and easy. Sheet reading here I come!

Very Good!

I have only been using this app for 20 minutes and I already know 99% of the treble clef! Pair it with some lo key classical music and you’re in for a chill time. All you have to do is play for like a few minutes and you will already be better! Plus the customer is always right, right?( wait a minute this was free…)

Filtering for just treble clef doesn’t work

In theory this app lets you choose which clef you want to practice. In reality it offers me the same content regardless of what I select in the filters.

Simply the best!!

What a fantastic app! Simple and to the point unlike all the other garbage on the App Store. I downloaded a large number of apps and tested them all and this is by far the best. Will be sending this to all my piano students.

A fantastic app

A fantastic app for piano beginners like me, trying to learn piano notes for the first time. I can use it whenever I have a few spare minutes. Thank you so much.

simple flashcards for music

Exactly what i was looking for. There are options to include treble, bass, or both. You just pick your answer and swipe the card for the next one.

Simple. Effective.

ALMOST perfect

There needs to be an option to choose a range or specific notes you want to study, and there needs to be an option to restudy all the notes you got wrong.

Fantastic Tool for Sight Reading

This app has been such a game-changer for learning to sight read.

It’s clear a lot of thought went into creating a tool that makes such a challenging skill feel approachable.

The way it separates note recognition from playing is brilliant—it removes so much of the initial frustration and really helps build confidence.

There are just a couple of small things that could make the experience even better.

One would be having the flashcards auto-advance when you get the correct answer. It would keep the flow going and make it easier to stay focused on moving from one note to the next. If the cards stopped for a wrong answer, that would make sense—you’d want to reflect on the mistake—but for correct ones, advancing automatically would feel more seamless.

It would also be great if the app tracked mistakes so users could review them later. That kind of feedback would make practice even more effective and rewarding.

All that said, this app is already such a thoughtful and useful tool—it’s clear it was designed to truly help people improve, and it’s doing just that.

Thank you for creating something so helpful and accessible. With a few tweaks, it could go from amazing to absolutely perfect.

Great….but…

This is a great simple app to help get the notes down. Simple, clean, easy. Love it. Two things.
At your first begin, I didn’t know to swipe the card. Maybe a simple arrow to show the first move.

Second, when I have Bass and treble cleff activated, I still only get bass cleff cards. I have to disable it to get any treble cleff cards. Small glitch perhaps.
