Have to close app to not watch long ads
Recently, some links you click on start a 10 or 15 second ad before a video. There is no way to go back without watching or closing the app entirely, and reopening. This happens often enough to be extremely irritating.
Good in theory
Too many pay-walls really earns a failure in execution. Flipboard would be a nice combination with Apple News - it offers such breadth. Alas, much of the added content is null.

good, not great
There are a lot of reasons to like this aggregator. There are hundreds of outlets to choose from. It’s easy to tailor your feed the way you like. Creating and sharing magazines is fun. The community is robust if you like chatting about the stories. There are also some reasons not to like it. The app heats up your phone like an oven. It sucks up your data like a Dyson, in 27 days it’s eaten a whopping 31 gigs of data. It scrapes and sells a huge amount of your personal information. And even though it tries to give you options around ads and paywalls the outlets find ways to get you anyway.
