Outdated stories
This app has been around for a long time and I came back to it recently. It’s a news aggregator with a nice layout which I still enjoy. However, too many stories are old or behind a paywall or just not from good reliable or popular services.
Customer Service Suddenly Non-Existent
8 Sep 2026 ~ Today I attempted to contact Help thru the Flipboard App because I was unable to post from outside the app for well over 7 hours. I checked for IOS updates, but nothing new after the 4 Sep update. I went thru all of the troubleshooting steps & then finally contacted the Help within the App. Total FAIL. I was directed to troubleshoot & peruse articles- none of which applied - was asked if that helped. I replied ‘No, I need to talk to someone’ and it was crickets. I asked again for an answer & got NO REPLY. Later on, I tried again & the only thing that popped up was more articles. No chat. No help. When Flipboard initially rolled out its app I was ecstatic. Real news from around the globe & for journalists or writers like myself, it was a great source. Post-Covid it has become mostly left-leaning - not centric as before Covid - and increasingly populated by trolls trying to demean & anger those who post. There has also been content bordering on soft porn popping up on my feed. I report it & nothing happens. I don’t know who’s running the show now, but it might be time for both Apple App Store & the FCC to investigate the stifling or shadow banning of Conservative contributors. It’s a violation of 1A rights to free speech when an App squashes or bans content they don’t agree with. Flipboard has either gone rogue or simply no longer caters to all viewpoints. It used to be a great app, but lately it seems they’ve taken the Nike route. Sad.

Too many news sources that require a subscription
The platform should only include free news sources. It should not present itself to be a source for news if it’s just a platform to direct you to a subscription page.
