Mandatory updates lock pilot out of the app in the field
This has happened to me twice now. I’m often in the field conducting flights where cellular service may be limited or non-existent. A required update can prevent me from accessing mission information at the exact time I need it most.
Today, the app told me an update was required before I could continue. When I went to the App Store, there was no update available, it only showed “Open.” As a result, I could not update the status of my flights or retrieve the flight parameters for my missions.
Mandatory updates should not immediately lock pilots out of the app. Please provide at least a couple of days of notice before an update becomes required, and allow the previous version to continue functioning during that period.
For an app being used by pilots in the field, reliable access to mission parameters and flight status reporting should not depend on being able to download an update at that moment.
App not working.
Never has a single job
Wow. just wow.
Response from developer
Hi, thanks for the feedback! We completely understand the concern. The app only uses location when you're assigned to a mission — it detects arrival/departure via geofencing and nothing more. No continuous tracking, no background data collection. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. Feel free to reach out if you have questions!
