Not the happiest about the new updates as an og user
My friend convinced me to download this couple months ago.
At first I kind of liked it but then the app updated certain things that I’m not the happiest about
A few suggestions and issues:
Add a stopwatch feature — Sometimes I don’t know how long I will be able to study, and sometimes if the timer goes off in the middle of working, I feel the flow of work will suddenly come to a halt
My phone has been overheating — it’s not the newest phone, but it’s not the oldest phone either. My battery is genuinely going to break if I use this as much as I actually study every day. In comparison to brawl stars (heavy duty game btw), it takes up 5x more battery than that, so if you have battery issues I would think about it for a moment
I genuinely have to squint with the new font… can you guys make it readable again? Or at least make the users be able to toggle it? It’s getting kind of frustrating
Some of my t-shirts stack on top of the pants… please fix that

This is a perfect game do download especially when your studying, if you want to be calmed and motivated and organized download this game!! Is cozy and warm like to play with friends!! You can focus in places like a plane, a beach, a room, a big bookstore, and you can hear music and modify your life music in the background!! You can have a little character and costuming it in this game!!and if you play it a lot you have gold beans!! Which are useful and the brown ones, is like gold beans is diamonds and brown beans are the money 🎀

overall i'm really happy with the app, it helps me stay focused and the aesthetics, stats, accessories and friend stats + servers keep me excited to use it every day.
as an iphone + macbook user, i put my phone on charge and use phone mirroring. this way it barely affects my macbook's performance; through the browser it unfortunately overheats.
i'm considering paying to see more in-depth stats; however, there's no way to preview what they even look like.
i'd love if you'd add a trial subscription or a 30 second preview.
i'm excited to see where this project goes and hope the devs keep improving it :)

GOT ME INTO HARVARD
Didn’t get me into Harvard.. just wanted to get your attention but seriously this app is super helpful and has done wonders for my grades.
BEST STUDY APP EVER MUST GET ⭐️
I’ve been using this for a couple months, so it only felt right to write this review. This is honestly the best and only timer I have consistently been using. It’s so cute, with customizing options for your character, adorable and frequently updated / new locations, and instrumental background music to help you focus. (That you can of course turn on and off as you please) Then only thing I would say is that the wheel for free golden beans usually does not work , and the ad is sometimes unavailable for me. I have tried so many apps to help me focus before, but, it’s safe to say, this is the best so far.

Absolutely amazing
Before I couldn’t do anything without getting distracted but now I can do lots of things without getting distracted or bored and I’ve learned to draw and bake because of this app I highly recommend it and making those tasks before setting the timer really help to focus on ONLY that
Constant bugs
There are constantly bugs affecting time, music, clothing, etc. I have a paid subscription and it’s annoying to use sometimes, but the app genuinely helps me stay focused
Seasonal rewards
It’s okay the app can be glitchy but now for the new season when I complete a study session it won’t give me the seasonal reward. I now have to study two days in a row to get one day completed in the new season. Super weird and super annoying

i love the fact that you could study with people in real time!! i like seeing what everyone’s dreams are and what they’re studying for, and focustown has helped me a lot on focusing. i’ve been studying nonstop to earn more coffee beans and the different study rooms are really nice. i like joining servers to study with people there! its fun to meet new people. there are a few bugs though, sometimes my screen goes black and in different times, i can’t join a study room. another problem is that when im trying to claim my seasonal pass rewards, it tells me that i can’t claim my reward and previous season pass was still syncing? it’s been like this for about days and it’s really disappointing because i was looking forward to unlocking the japanese classroom to study in. something i didn’t like was that the app blocking costed money. it’s such a simple feature, and it was still blocked by a paywall. it’s really dumb considering basically every device has a silencer or do not disturb. since this app is for students, most people using this app wouldn’t have a job yet nor have a lot of money to spend, so why add and features that cost money? the coffees should be buyable with (golden) coffee beans, but this is just one example of something that stupidly costs real money

Love the app plus new update feedback
Focustown is awesome! It’s been a really helpful tool for keeping me off my phone and focused while I work. I especially enjoy the graphics and social features.
I did notice a couple of things after the newest update:
• The text color on many screens is difficult to read because there isn’t enough contrast with the background.
• I was hoping the socks I purchased could be worn underneath the shoes, but that still doesn’t seem to be possible. Right now it’s either shoes without socks, socks without shoes, or neither. It would be great if socks and shoes could be equipped together in a future update!
One final (and completely subjective) preference: I actually preferred when the emotes were displayed with the character instead of the capybara. I found it easier to visualize and though the capybara does give the app a bit more personality.
Overall, though, I’ve really enjoyed using Focustown. Thanks for continuing to improve it!

Can’t study without it
This is such an adorable app and has a selection of different settings to study in with others around the world. I honestly couldn’t study until I got this app and now I’m obsessed. A cozy animal crossing vibe. So cute would rate a 1000/5 stars if possible 😁🩷

I’ve been using this app religiously to study during grad school. Everything is amazing, I’ve told all my friends about it (and was introduced to it by a friend). I love customizing my avatar and seeing my friends in the same virtual room as me, studying, it’s motivating! THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE NEW UPDATE: I am checking the shop, as I usually do, and I have this feeling that the art is AI?!?!? Focustown please tell me you are not using AI art for your app!! Disappointing
I would have rated this higher if I received a response from anyone on the bug team. I’ve reported an issue with my streak being lost 3x but I haven’t gotten any responses. I’ve lost my streak 2x and I’m on paid membership. I’m very disappointed.
What do I do

LOVE this app except
I wish I could have the thing where you don’t go on other apps for free in order to limit distractions, but overall it’s astounding!! You can do many things on there such as picking your study area, your character and customising it, you can invite your friends or play with random people, you can pick what song type you want - I personally love dark academia - , and lastly you could pick a limit of time on how long you want to study for and at the end once you’ve completed your study goal you get rewards!
Another thing you could improve on is adding more time for people using the app for free , like instead of 25 minute limit only you could add more minutes (maybe up to an hour?)
But I love the app therefore I will rate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LOVE THIS APP!!
I've been studying 4hours a day min for 40 days now!! From someone who never had this consistency, this app saved my life and I feel so confident that I will reach my goals! Now I'm gonna say the things I want: I wish there was catalogues when dressing up, like "dresses", "t-shirts" and the possibility to save avatars, so I don't have to do find every piece of clothing every time I want to wear it. Also, I wish more places had the 2+ hours, because I can only use the plane, and I want to use the cafes! Please give us more items in the shop because I have a lot of money I want to spend, and types of hair, but the best thing would be a LAPTOP version!! It would definitely skyrocket this app! Wish y'all the best ❤️

The app on iPad and phone is really amazing and keeps me focused, but when on laptop, the app glitches out when you click on the shop button and you just click thanks from receiving beans, when you earn beans from studying they reset when the app is closed, it would be way more helpful towards my study if these bugs were fixed for laptop use.
