Great concept but
I legit need to use my phone number to access the app? They say you don’t need to but there is no skip. When I hold the app for a long time it says “Apple signup (no phone number required)” and I’m on iPad btw so I click it and it doesn’t work it still asks for my phone number? I heard and saw the customization and it’s so cute and has a great concept but are you kidding me? Plus it’s ai slop, they use ai and you can tell. Please fix these problems cuz I don’t have a phone number. And why can’t we skip the age thing? Is it that necessary to know our age? Seriously disappointing. I wish it worked without phone number and my review would turn into 4-5 stars.

Why change??
I have loved this app (only had for about a month) and became obsessed with the focus train (harry potter vibes) but within the last few days they have changed the focus train area to ONLY be on the PAID subscription. Not only a week ago all I had to do was invite 3 friends and I unlocked the train.. I woke up one day and it was locked again! I know this probably shouldn’t upset me as much as it has but I’m a broke med student who can’t afford $60 for my favourite focus area 😭 I was just upset because there was no warning, no apparent reason but for profit? I understand they need to make money to keep the app alive but they already have tons of paying members! Please just at least send out a notification when your going to change things like this :)

Overall, a good app.
I love this app sometimes! It is exactly how it is advertised with being able to study with other people and with the new update, you can join servers with other people studying or becoming something similar to you! It is very cool and the music Is great!
There are few weird bugs that are still happening, such as, when I enter some rooms with a few more people than the starter library, it sometimes moves me around. It mostly does this when presenting the scale of how long I want to study for, and it leaves me very confused since the spot I originally choose is empty. The other issue is that when I am sometimes moved to another spot, it moves me to a spot that someone else is already at, so it causes my avatar to look weird when another person is there and it becomes less fun to study in this type of situation because it is confusing and weird. I think this is a bug, but other than those two issues, it is a great and easy app to navigate when you want to start studying daily.

Good app, couple gripes
I do like the app. I like being able to study with people but don’t have many people irl to do it with so having people “around me” who are all focused is really nice. I like the different settings, the daily shops, the way you can interact with people and their dreams. My only complaint is that the art style is advertised a different way than the game really is,. I like the in game art style, but a lot of the art to advertise the game is very ACNH, but the actual in game models look nothing like it. Which is fine, I just fish they would use that art style instead when advertising so you’re not thrown off. Another small complaint is that when you’re looking through people in the setting you’re in, it’s very easy to close out of it and you’ll have to restart. If you’ve already clicked to congratulate them on their dream, and accidentally click again, it will close you out and that can be a little annoying. Overall, it’s a great app. I’m really glad it exists and it’s very cute and silly and definitely helps improve productivity. Would recommend

The study app is very fun and gives me the motivation to study, I just feel like it sucks they put multiple things in Pro and you have to spend money just to have golden beans. I would buy pro if they had a once lifetime payment.
Good for study, but a little issue with the new update
So, the app is very good for a focus tool and the environments and places are also very cozy and ideal for locking down on your work. But since they got a new update which forced users to switch to Focustown Pro (paid version) just to study at that place. But the real catch is that before the update, you could use the Focus Train if you had just three friends, and I was using it for a long time. So, this thing was the only downgrade about the new upgrade. Kindly look forward to this and change it to free for tho old users who were using Focustown before the new update.

Tolle App (ein Verbesserungswunsch)
Focustown ist eine richtig tolle App! Man hat viel mehr Lust zu lernen und dabei Freunde zu „treffen”. Jedoch würde ich gerne einen Punkt anmerken, der meiner Meinung nach, noch Verbesserungsbedürftig ist. Ich fände es toll, wenn man selber entscheiden könnte, wer alles sieht wie lange man insgesamt schon fokussiert ist. Das heißt es gäbe die Wahl zwischen: Alle, nur Freunde, niemand. Diese Einstellung sollte man dann jederzeit ändern können.

Helped Me Finally Beat Procrastination
Focus Town has made a real difference in my daily routine. The shared study environment, focus timer, and rewards make it much easier to start and continue working. I also appreciate that the app is free and does not overwhelm users with ads. Highly recommended for anyone who struggles with procrastination or studying alone.

Great app with some issues
I love this app and I use it to study every day with over 150 hours. However, I hate the AI usage, most apparent with the emote backgrounds. It’s not difficult to find stock images online or draw something simple yourself. Moreover, I would love the choice to not download the music selections. I like lo-fi but most of the time I prefer my own music, and having users download about an hour of each track (since it’s not actually a live radio) is very inconvenient for my phone storage. Overall great concept but the execution could be better.

BEST STUDY APP EVER MUST GET ⭐️
I’ve been using this for a couple months, so it only felt right to write this review. This is honestly the best timer I have consistently been using. It’s so cute, with customizing options for your character, adorable and frequently updated / new locations, and instrumental background music to help you focus. (That you can of course turn on and off as you please) Then only thing I would say is that the wheel for free golden beans usually does not work , and the ad is usually unavailable for me.

app is made well enough, but i took off two stars because it feels as if quite literally everything in the app is made with gen ai ???? all of the animal crossing-like pictures and the backgrounds and everything else is made with ai
