About

Some things are just for you. Most diary apps look like a notes app with a padlock on it. Folios opens like a journal you would actually want to write in. A dark, candle-lit page at night. Cream ruled paper. Kraft. A blueprint grid. Cherry blossom. Seventeen handcrafted paper themes, each with its own ink colour and ruling, and nine handwriting fonts to write them in. Pick the paper that matches your mood and the words come easier. ONE PAGE A DAY Folios opens on tonight, not on a feed. One page, one prompt if you want it, and what you wrote a year ago today waiting quietly underneath. Nothing to scroll. No streak to defend. CHOOSE YOUR PAPER Seventeen themes, from warm lined cream to dark moleskine, kraft, blueprint, cherry blossom, sage, espresso and midnight. Nine handwriting fonts including Caveat, Kalam, Indie Flower and Satisfy. Change them whenever you like — per entry, or for the whole journal. A YEAR AGO TODAY Folios quietly resurfaces what you wrote on this date in earlier years. Nothing to set up, nothing to remember. Just a gentle reminder of who you were last summer, waiting at the top of the page when you open the app. YOUR MOOD, WITHOUT THE QUESTIONNAIRE No tapping a smiley face every night. Folios reads your writing on your device and picks up the feeling behind it — joy, calm, anxiety, gratitude, sadness, anger. Over time the Reflections tab shows your month's mood, your writing rhythm, your streak, your busiest hours and your word counts. You just write. The insights arrive on their own. 230+ PROMPTS FOR THE BLANK PAGE Some days the page stares back. Folios offers a fresh prompt each day, and a full prompt picker inside the editor when you want a different one — reflective when things are good, gentler when they are not. Write freely, brain dump, list what you are grateful for, or work on a poem. PRIVATE, AND OFFLINE FOR GOOD Your entries live on your phone, in a private database. No account. No sign-up. No cloud sync. Nothing to upload and nothing for us to read. Lock the journal with a PIN or Face ID — and turn the prompt off if you would rather just type. If you ever need to hand your phone to someone, a decoy PIN opens a separate, ordinary-looking journal instead of yours. BACK UP ON YOUR TERMS Export your entire journal as a file, or protect it with a password using AES-256 encryption, and import it again on any device. Turn on auto-backup to a folder you choose and forget about it. SHARE A PAGE, NOT YOUR JOURNAL Turn a single entry into a card — styled with your paper theme or stripped back to clean minimal — and send it wherever you like. Long entries scale to fit. No watermark, no branding. No subscription. No sign-up. No ads. Just you, a good page and a pen. Made with care in India.

What's New in Folios

1.1

August 26, 2026

A complete redesign, and three fixes worth knowing about. NIGHTFALL Folios now opens dark and candle-lit, organised as three tabs — Tonight for today's page, Journal for everything you have written, and Reflections for your patterns. NEW • Prompts are far easier to reach, with a full picker inside the editor • Turn the fingerprint prompt off if you would rather just type your PIN • Long entries now scale to fit when you share a page as a card • Seventeen paper themes, including the new Nightfall FIXED • Opening an entry could change the date it was written • Setting a decoy PIN could overwrite your real PIN • Daily reminders fired at the wrong hour in some time zones Your journal stays on your phone. No account, no cloud, no ads.
