User reviews

Almost there!

This is the app that I’ve been waiting for. Two improvements off the top of my head:

1) Sync the data to Apple Health so that I can track macros, etc. there.

2) Chat. I used the others and it’s so cumbersome to look foods up, scan barcodes, and put in exact measurements.

I just want to be able to tell my FoodIntake AI “buddy” that I ate a cheeseburger and fries and the app takes it from there.

As is, it’s good because the data doesn’t have to be exact. It can assume that I didn’t eat a 5lb cheeseburger and instead put in the nutritional information of a “regular one”.

However, if the app were to be enhanced with chat, it could go like this:

Me: “I had a cheeseburger and fries.”
AI: “Cool. Where did you go?”
Me: “McDonald’s.”
AI: “Did you get a quarter-pounder like last time?”
Me: “Yep”
AI: “Did you supersize?”
Me: “Yep.”
AI: “Cool. TTYL.”

If you want to go above and beyond, give me sliders that I can use to adjust the AI model’s persistence on getting the details correct and the aggressiveness of making sure that it got all of the items, because … I actually had a milkshake too.

Response from developer

First of all, thanks for taking the time to write such detailed feedback. I really appreciate it. Export of nutritions to Apple Health is available in the latest version. Personally, I’m not a fan of typing or dictating my meals into chat; in my opinion, it’s too time-consuming. Precision is still a priority, but it’s optional—you can choose whether to edit the AI-generated ingredients and portion sizes or not. There are favorites/recents sections in the Search screen, where you can easily pick your regular foods.
