decent game
i enjoyed the game for the most part and think some of the complaints mostly come from people who played the other forgotten hill games and found it hard to adjust to a new style.
my complaints:
the mechanics really aren’t that difficult to use, especially if you’ve played 3d mobile games before. however, there were a lot of times that i couldn’t find something and had to look it up just to realize that i had to move around in a certain way to look behind or on the side of something. that got pretty annoying because a lot of times the item would be hidden somewhere that i already clicked 10 times but i didn’t click and move in juuust the right way so it appeared i couldn’t look closer at it.
the ads are super annoying and pop up very frequently. granted, most of the time they aren’t very long. i think it makes more sense to have an option to watch an ad to get a hint like most escape room adjacent games do. i would have rather watched an ad to get a hint than have to go online when i couldn’t figure something out. the game was fairly difficult (for me at least) so you would still get a lot of people watching ads. but having them pop up mid game play constantly did make me want to quit the game a few times.

Prefer 2D
Much prefer the 2D versions of Forgotten Hill. They are much smoother and swifter to move around in.
So Glad I Played!
What’s with all the negativity!?
So the Hill took a foray into the “3D” (ish) realm. It really only adds a smidge of 1st person motion. The controls were simple & straightforward (unlike those counterintuitive ones, in which u scroll a ‘joystick’ downward in order to look upward etc). You look around by scrolling the screen, move forward by clicking. There are a couple inventory items u can inspect more closely in 3D.
I was dreading some huge departure; some terrible mistake. Thankfully, i didn’t let that stop me from trying the game. & whaddaya know- nothing major has changed! Still creepy, still clever. In fact, this may have been the most sensical Hill game yet (in terms of puzzle solving)! 👍👍

Opinione su The Third Axis – Per favore, tornate allo stile 2D classico
Tuttavia, vorrei condividere un’opinione sincera su The Third Axis.

Why?
I made it about 3 minutes in before I deleted it, go back to the old style on the next one this is awful
A nice foray into a new UX
Context: I am a BIG fan of the 2D Forgotten Hill series which I play on desktop (Steam). I love the storyline and characters, the creepiness and dark atmosphere, the UI and UX as well as the sounds. It’s the right level of gory and scary while being hard enough to be engaging but not overly frustrating.
The Third Axis is a big departure from the 2D Forgotten Hill I am used to. The UX is quite different as you can navigate in 3D and have much more “control” - it’s well suited for mobile playing. It’s also more interactive (eg the dialogue with the kid has a level of interaction). In my opinion the atmosphere is a bit less dark and a bit more gory and the puzzles a bit easier, but again with a few more steps required(eg opening the food cans).
I think the third axis works great for mobile, while the 2D chapters work great for desktop. I would have hoped a bit more of the atmosphere I am used to, but I appreciate this is the first 3D game and I am sure the next one will be more aligned with the FH I got to love. Keep up the great work!

One of the worst FH games
I have enjoyed playing earlier Forgotten Hill games but deleted this within two minutes of starting the game. The new navigation style is horrible and not very intuitive - as an example, you have to swipe up to look down and vice versa. Hoping newer games revert back the the old navigation style.
Not working on iPad Air 1st generation
Supposed to work on my iPad but crash after crash before even getting past tutorial
Spooky
I really love the forgotten hill franchise. This game was a surprise I was not expecting it. There were somethings about the 3D that I didn’t like in particular but the graphics are great. This game also gave me anxiety with the monster pounding on the door.
Awkward
Very awkward to try to navigate the 3D. Also nauseating
Game breaking glitch 2
I’m stuck in front of the safe after the monster’s second appearance. Restarting the game doesn’t help.
Great game! But it’s stuck!
I played for a while. And loved it! But then when I came back to it later, I see a message “Something is missing” and I can’t select anything. I can look around the room and view my inventory. But I can’t move from room to room or focus on any objects. What a shame! I was really enjoying this!
Another great addition to the fold
Much like another reviewer I nearly missed this release thanks to Apples policy of relentlessly pushing the same stuff on its pages. I really enjoy the Forgotten Hill games and Rusty Lake games and similar. Surprisingly I found it much easier than early FH releases, but roughly enjoyed it.
Great game but scared me half to death
i’m playing this game w my cousins and we haven’t played a game this scary since the wardrobe 2 (also by forgotten hill). we screamed so much 😭😭 it was scary as hell fr

Horrible navigation
I loved the previous FH games, but only lasted 5 min before deleting this one. Horrible navigation makes this unplayable. I’m not affected by motion sickness, as many others have complained of, just not willing to suffer through the horrible 3D navigation. A simple 2D point and click would have been SO much better.

Glitch/bug
(SPOILERS) I was enjoying this game until the weird deer thingy came back and killed me. now I cant step or move anywhere only my camera, and it has ‘something is missing’ on the bottom. I can’t play it anymore, I even refreshed the tab.
Love their games, but can’t play this one.
I’ve played all the Forgotten Hill games and really liked them. I’m one of those unfortunate souls that gets motion sickness, so there’s a lot of mystery games I can’t play, so it was exciting to find a developer that made engaging games without all the spinning, quick zooms, etc of other games.
So I was really sad when I realized that the newest Forgotten Hill game (this one) had incorporated that stuff. I tried to play it a couple times, but I’d have to click on something and then quickly close my eyes so that the swooping camera wouldn’t make me sick. That gets really old, really quickly. So I wasted my money - which bothers me less than just not being able to play the game!
Please go back to the old format with your next game. Please, please, please. Please.

Sound fixed
I fixed it. Great game.
WHY 3D!!
I once loved fh series but now it makes me suffer when I tried to figure out directions and ignore these low-polished model with triangles. It cost minutes to change through rooms when it only took seconds in 2d. Please add normal 2d to choose if you really really like 3d puzzle game or just develop new project but not fogotten hill.

Where’s my hints I paid for?
I paid the $3.99, not because I needed the hints (along with no ads), but in order to support a great indie game developer as I’ve done on all your previous games. But there is NO HINTS, as a button or anywhere else.
As for the game, it’s ok, not as good as earlier games.
But certainly frustrating to pay extra for something that seems like vapor…
