Wtf. Doesn’t work anymore
It used to work now I can’t answer or make calls, text anyone and in my profile my number isn’t there as of it doesn’t exist. My phone will ring but not allow me to answer
They lie!
Basically they tell you it’s free. Once you get used to using it and share the number, they start charging you and if you not pay then they make it not work and say it’s a random pause due to your pattern of use. They don’t know when it will return to normal and have no way of overriding it. Pretty dishonest and desperate for money

Crashes upon startup
Crashes as soon as it opens up. Unusable. Used to work great though. Now it doesn’t work at all.
Scam in itself
Not free, makes you pay then refuses to send more than a few messages due to “scam security”
Quality down almost unusable but price keeps going up.
I’m a paid diamond Premium plan subscriber since 2019. It was like $5 back then to get your 2nd number. Now is $10+ which is ridiculous that’s the cost of a eSIM. But I can understand the convenience except the app DOES NOT WORK, I can receive calls, some times, but I CANT send any message for the LAST MONTH. And good Luck trying to logout and login again. The app will freeze and you are getting NOWHERE. IF YOU ARE A NEW USER LOOK ELSEWHERE DONT DOWNLOAD THIS APP UNTIL THEY FIX ALL BUGS.

Waste of money
The recent update 2 weeks ago has caused the app to crash and not connect at all. I am DISABLED AND I HAVE SERIOUS MEDICAL issues that could literally kill me without warning. I use this app to communicate with my doctor office and others as well. I need surgery at the cancer center and this app is how I communicate with them as well. I’m a senior citizen that has a numerous medical history and I am fighting to stay alive here. FreeTone has now taken away my ability to communicate with anyone. Ever since the update on June 6 or 8, 2026 I have had connection issues. As of this morning June 21, 2026, the FreeTone app is not connecting at all so I can’t make or receive any calls or texts. ICSTRAB!!!!

Nearly unusable at this point
I’ve been a paid subscriber of this app for years, as it gave me a reliable option when I spent time overseas. Over the past two years performance has declined, with calls often dropping or failing to connect. Recently, I’ve been completely unable to connect on any voice calls. Why is this app updating regularly, if not to fix or improve its primary function, to allow users to make calls? It seems they built up so many positive reviews from years of decent service that recent negative reviews are drowned out. Recommend you do not pay for this app in its current state.

Can't even sign up - "Something went wrong"
I downloaded this app today hoping to use it, but I can't even get past the first screen. Every time I try to sign up or log in, I get a popup saying "Oops, something went wrong, please try again later." My internet connection is fine and works with every other app. It’s frustrating to download an app that won't even let you create an account. Please fix this bug.

Premium should me no ads. None. I like FreeTone overall but get annoyed with pop up ads while paying for a premium subscription.
