App won’t work with an iPhone to scan a passport to save its life. Disappointing and shocking that Migration Verket even advocates its use. Absolutely terrible that numerous users online report the same issues, and no resolution appears to have been made.

Camera Features Do Not Work
I tried using this app on an iPhone 15 pro max in Australia, with iOS 18. Any camera related functionality does not work. It does prompt for camera permission but once given no camera views work. Completely non functional iOS currently.
Update, restarting phone fixed it. Check by using the native QR code reader in control centre on iOS. Strange bug

Passport biometrics not working
Tried to register for FREJA with my iPhone. Scans passport fine but the nfc implementation is garbage. I’ve tried third party apps that work just fine at reading the passport so it’s clearly this app that is an issue.

Terrible
One of the most frustrating experiences I have had with any app. I had to take pictures of my head and passport multiple times, in different lighting, in front of different backgrounds, I had to reinstall the app several times. All because it would not accept my photos. Then randomly it would work. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. After about an hour of struggling I finally had everything I needed to submit, then when I did nothing happened. Just a loading circle forever. An unbelievably frustrating experience.

1 star Total crap. Would not recommend.
This app discriminates against foreigners with different passport or ID documents. Downloaded this app because it’s suggested as an online ID document for use in Sweden. Finished the entire process of registration and certifying my identity only to be told I can’t use it because my passport is British not Swedish. It wouldn’t even accept my Swedish ID issued by the Swedish tax authorities. Good work team Freja… NOT! If you’re unsure and reading this. Don’t waste your time.

Does not work
The option to upgrade to Freja eID+ is nowhere to be found, anywhere on my app. The QR code necessary to verify in person does not seem to exist, and I have attempted to follow the directions and explored everything available in the app.
Waste of time
Was told I can care an eID with a resistance permit but it does not accept it in the app.
Not so great
Only works if you are a citizen of the Nordic countries or the UK. No mention of this on the website, so if you where born / have a passport anywhere else in Europe or the world for that matter you don’t exists according to these guys.
The app keeps crashing each time you try to submit your ID documents, so all in all not really worth it.

Keeps crashing and saying that the identity number is not valid (which it is...) - seems the app/ service have not passed simple Q/A testing...

Hi Nick! I can see that your review is coming from the US, are you a Swede currently living outside of Sweden? Unfortunately our government approval requires us to be able to check the address of the applicant in the national registry (SPAR) which is currently not possible for Swedes registered as living abroad. We have applied for an exception from the relevant agencies precisely to be able to provide en eID to Swedes living abroad but unfortunately the wheels of government turn slowly. // Lazar @ Freja eID
