Great App may need algorithm work or improved feedback
Overall I love this app because it is exactly how I’ve been trying to practice the fretboard but it takes away two important time lags in that it tells me where new notes are and helps me randomly play one.
I am however currently stuck and I am not sure why… the app says I am playing all the notes correctly and gives no indicators that it is picking up extra noise but at the end of each practice most of my progress bars actually go down? If there is a timing element or if the app thinks I’m playing the wrong note then I feel like that should be given as feedback at the end. It tells you during the lesson if you play the wrong note though so is there a hidden aspect I don’t know about or is the algorithm struggling for some reason?
Edit: I’m reducing my rating. I love this app as a concept but it’s been a couple days and it’s just not useable. None of the progress bars go up, I can’t get past the A string despite playing the notes all correctly, extremely well, and at a quick consistent tempo. I’ve read similar reviews with the EXACT same issues that don’t haven’t seemed to be addressed so until it’s fixed I have to abandoned the app because it no longer serves as a learning tool.

Simply incredible
This app is absolutely great . From the different amount of stringed instruments you can select, to the different tunings you can select as well (and learning notes via different tunings definitely can feel like a mountain to climb) . I’ve had no issues with it thus far, and can easily see myself incorporating this into my practice regiment . If anything, I do catch myself yearning for slightly longer rounds (you can get so into it, it can feel over so quickly), yet there are no complaints for how the app is currently . Definitely an app for our modern times to pick up to feel more comfortable on the fretboard .

Bring back some old features
I started using this app in December and throughly enjoyed it as it was allow me to learn my bass board. Sometime between February-Now is when I’m assuming that the major update and redesign released. I’m writing this review but I see that the dev actually responds to feedback which I am extremely grateful for.
One feature that I truly miss is the ability to see your progress on notes without pressing “practice”. I used to be able to see my note progression per string, however it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Unfortunately you can only see your note progression after each round and even with that, it’s only limited to the notes practiced in a round. I hope in the next update you can bring this feature back as it was extremely useful to me.

Update is frustrating, I see what they are gong for, used to be great.
I have used this app for the better part of six months almost daily. I loved it. However the update as it is right now, unfortunately is a miss. I do like what they’re going for. Though constant recalibration and trouble recognizing notes, are a huge draw back for me right now. I hope the dev keeps working on fixing these issues because I really enjoyed using this app.

Hey! Thank you for the review and feedback. Fixing these issues is my top priority and I hope to have something soon. If you have any other thoughts please feel free to send them my way 🙏🏻🙏🏻 -Ryan (support@fretpro.app)
Near perfect
This app drills you by telling you what note to play, then listening verify that you play it. It’s exactly how you want to drill yourself to learn the notes of the fretboard. It has all the right options to focus on certain strings and to use sharps and flats. The design is clean, clear and perfectly suited for the task.
There’s only one problem, and it’s a big one. At first it asks you to find a variety of notes. But after a while, it stops asking about certain notes. Perhaps it is trying to focus on the notes you keep getting wrong, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. So you find yourself being drilled on notes you know, and not learning the other notes you don’t know.
It would be great if there was a button to clear the training history, so it would ask about all the notes again. Or add an option so it doesn’t try to focus on missed notes

Hi, Thanks for the review. You’re right that the app tries to focus on notes that you get wrong or notes that it takes you a second to find. However, each round should consist of a few notes that you are working on and a few random notes that you already know. It’s possible that you found a big, I will look into it!
