Review

The AI is weak, even at the toughest setting.

Better then Panzer general

There is such a demand for games like this and yet the developers stuck with the old worn out hex games instead of enhancing this. I am asking the developer to fix the problems, expand the game. This developer has several so-so games because they keep using the engine they use for the civil war games, Romans, Hannibal and others which are all me to games. This engine is better and smoother. The previous game based on d-day could also be updated and included. This could easily be a 5 star.
PREVIOUS REVIEW This is a great game but could use a few more units. Also, there is at least 3 scenarios where you meet all three objectives but it says you missed one. Finally, I have played all three campaigns and we could use a fourth or the ability to play as the Allies. Too bad the developer has pretty much walked away from this engine but still worth a purchase. I knocked it down to 4 stars because the developer has abandoned it and it now has several glitches. Still enjoyable but they are foolish for not fixing and expanding it.

NOT better than Panzer General....

OK game, but not as sophisticated as the panzer general series or other turn based games where, for instance specific units can last
throughout the campaign, gaining experience and upgrades. There is also no defensive artillery support or fighter escort defense to speak of.
It’s a pretty basic game, but still fun.

Not worth it

I save 1 star ratings for apps that are broken.

This one needs a much better tutorial and better balancing of German and Soviet forces.

Great until you get to Act III

It gets real buggy on Act III including impossible situations where you cannot get a complete victory in two battles.

Just hard enough

I love hex based TBS games, but I’m not all that good at them. Difficulty ramps up nicely resulting in a good learning curve. Graphics and sound are great. Can’t comment as to historical accuracy; I’m just playing for fun, and fun it is!

Nice But

The game does not let you attack Moscow ! Even if you win all the battles there is no attacking Moscow.

Solid effort for a beer and pretzel game

Very simple ai; but still fun. I wish matrix would hurry up and release more serious squad based games

The missions after the first get too hard

I gave it a three star review because missions after the first get very hard, and in my opinion they get too hard after the first.

Enjoyable Game

I played through the 12 Scenarios. It’s very much like Panzer General or Panzer Corps which I really enjoy. I didn’t encounter any significant bugs, which was nice... and there is a real ‘blitzkrieg’ element that makes the battles compelling. A solid 4 star game, except that I paid for this game and I’m annoyed to see in game purchase offers on my battle map. Save it for the credits or leave it out. I didn’t pay for in-game marketing!

Popcorn For The Mind

But, very high quality popcorn! Diverting.

Fun, but too buggy

Sometimes units will not respond to supply, attack or movement orders. When you are about to assault and a critical unit fails for no reason it is extremely frustrating. I can usually compensate, but I think there are just some "dead" hexes, whereby the option to supply shows a cost, but there is no way to interact with the unit. Anyway, makes some scenarios impossible to play. Don't buy the expansions, they're the buggiest.

Nice graphics but short story line

So I finished this in 3 hours and now they are asking for additional $$$ to continue the game. Don't waste your money - very easy to win and really not much strategy.

Great war game

It is a fun and addictive war game - it is very good to kill some time when commuting.

But

This is a really good game with great graphics, then it has problems.
The battle for Lenningrad does not allow you to use reinforcements or even pull up the pull-up. Since there is no manual or tutorial you have no way of knowing where the problem is or if it's supposed to do that?

Slithering doesn't care

There was a small bug that didn't allow people to see unit strength. One would assume it's an easy fix. It's been a year since they fixed it. Don't buy. Company doesn't care about supporting games.

Fun game

Great turn based game

Nice War Strategy Game.

Intuitive game play, strategy and tactics only, no wasting time building an empire, challenging enough to keep you interested and nice graphics.

I like it

Please fix Leningrad supply issue. I noticed no updates in a few months. It's game that's strategy but yet not boring. Fix that and the easy swipe turn button and 5 stars you get.

fun history themed turn based strategy

This is a fun game, especially for someone like me who likes ww2 and history. Unfortunetaly the UI is REALLY small, and there are a few glitches in the current version, but that has not kept me from thouroughly enjoying the game.
