About

We're GABLVM, an advocacy group for blind and low vision Muslims. We made this app so a blind Muslim can do everything in it with VoiceOver, without asking someone to read the screen for them. If you can see, it works just as well for you. The Quran Pick a reciter and listen to a whole surah, or go verse by verse and hear the English translation after each one. You can move by verse or by surah, or jump back and forward 10 or 30 seconds, and you can go straight to any verse or juz. Download surahs for when you're offline. Next time you open the app, Resume on the Home screen takes you back to where you stopped, and a Magic Tap (two finger double tap) plays or pauses from any screen. Tafsir from Ibn Kathir and Ma'arif al-Quran is read aloud too. Prayer Times come from your location, or you can pick a city, and you choose the calculation method. Each prayer can remind you with the adhan from Makkah, Madinah, Masjid Quba, Al-Aqsa or Egypt, or with a softer sound. On iOS 26 and later, the Fajr alarm rings like a real alarm. There's a prayer tracker that keeps count of make-up prayers as well, suhoor and iftar times in Ramadan, and the white days in your calendar. For women, the tracker can pause prayer reminders during your period. If you turn it on, it can also read Menstrual Flow from Apple Health and ask whether to pause, so you don't have to remember. It only reads, never writes, and nothing leaves your phone. Qibla Turn slowly. The ticks and vibration tell you when you're facing the Qibla, and the app says how far you are from the Kaaba. Learn Eight lessons walk through how to pray, from wudu and ghusl to every unit of the prayer and what you say in it, with the Arabic phrases recited so you can hear them. You'll also find duas for morning, evening and everyday moments, Imam Nawawi's forty hadith in Arabic and English, and the 99 names of Allah. Save anything you want to come back to. Calendar The Hijri calendar with the Islamic dates we mark, plus GABLVM community events. You get a reminder before an event, and when we're live, the stream shows up on Home. Privacy There are no ads or accounts, and we don't collect analytics. Your location is only used for prayer times and the Qibla, and it isn't tied to you. Your prayer tracker stays on your phone. If something isn't working, let us know at support.gablvm.org. Needs iOS 18 or later, on iPhone or iPad.

What's New in GABLVM

1.0.1

October 27, 2026

Qibla now pauses politely when Control Center, Siri or a phone call drops by, and picks right back up when they leave. No more talking over your guests. Does your mosque pray a few minutes after the app says it's time? Match my mosque, in Settings, Prayer, lets GABLVM follow your mosque's clock every day. The imam wins this one. Got a new iPhone Duo? GABLVM now fills the screen on it, and every tab and button still speaks its name with VoiceOver. The Fajr alarm is smarter about a phone that was switched off overnight, so an old alarm won't ring hours late. The Apple Health pause can now ask whether to resume prayer reminders when the period ends, or if the entry behind the pause is deleted. Need help? Support now lives in Settings, Support, with a quick way to send us a diagnostic log or rate the app. Plus a pile of small fixes for audio, prayer times and reminders, swept up quietly while you weren't looking.
