Leider lassen sich die Offline-Karten nicht zuverlässig herunterladen, ständig bricht der Download ab. Habe nach mehreren Tagen des testens das Probeabo wieder zurückgegeben…

Adventure Modes are just a waste of space
GaiaGPS used to be great, but now it’s an expensive app with features no one asked for or wants. Adventure Modes are a waste of screen space, that don’t add anything useful for Australian users.
Was great, but…
Used to love this app and have always paid the subscription. However I haven’t been able to download maps on iOS for 3 months this now. The app just immediately crashes. I have an iPhone 15 and very fast internet, and it used to work fine. If this isn’t resolved by my renewal I’ll be cancelling and finding another gps app.

Constant crashing trying to download offline maps
Offline maps show up as negative amount of storage space, then then app crashes while trying to download offline maps.
Snap to trail inconsistent
Snap to trail doesn’t work offline consistently.
Routes don’t snap to trail
I have loved using this app for years, but I’m honestly considering switching to an alternative because of how frustrating the route making is in the app. Sometimes it works just fine, but over half the time it will not snap to the trail no matter how hard I try. Turns a quick route assessments into a completely frustrating experience.

Tutorial?
No instructions. No way to find maps. I tried to get instructions off the Gaia website, 404 error. Was looking for an app for doing the triple crown of long trails but I’d be better with paper maps than an app with high ratings that doesn’t have maps and download to the app doesn’t work.
Dropped Nat Geo Trails layer
I’ve used the GAIA app for years but they no longer support the National Geo Trails map layer.
I used that layer about 90% of the time as it provides detail that none of the other options do.
I’m shopping for a new mapping App.

Bought by Outside and now way overpriced.
This was the best mapping option back when you could buy a lifetime (not really) membership. Now it’s its $60 a year! Just get AllTrails for $36 a year or better yet find something free.
Attempting to charge everyday
Lost access to my account for a while and it kept charging me and was unable to cancel and once direct deposit hit the company immediately took the cash.. not cool.

Why has the latest update got a rainbow flag on the Gaia logo? I don’t want this ideological garbage being shoved down my throat. I don’t care what people do with their own lives but this has nothing to do with hiking.
The Navigation Tool I Trust Outdoors
The one app I consistently rely on for trail navigation whenever I’m out exploring the outdoors.
No longer the best gps app
Been a user for almost 10 years. Gaia took a huge step backwards with the recent loss of Nat Geo Trails Illustrated Maps and the World Imagery Satellite coverage. Nothing Gaia provides now comes anywhere close to the detail those layers had.
So slow downloading speed
Why when I’m downloading offline maps it takes 5 business days for 200mb!
My internet is very fast but it genuinely takes sooo long to download anything in this app i have to wait for an hour then go hike.

Bumping your price by 50% is totally unacceptable to me. Gaia is one of the few apps I’ve been willing to pay a significant amount for, due to its functionality. That being said, $59.90/year is unacceptable. Looks like corporate mergers have destroyed another valuable thing. After years of using Gaia, I’m really sad to have to use something else, but it looks like that’s where we’re at. Bye. PS: developer responses like “write to our support team” in response to this sort of complaint, is telling. Additionally, data mining paid users is super lame. Gaia and Outside Inc will not get any money from me.

Disappointing
Unfortunately instead of improving, Gaia gets worse and worse over the years. Now the devs could think of nothing better than to add a big “Start Free Trial” button that always takes space on screen. While map downloads are still a pain and search is useless outside of the US.
