Useless unless you pay

Doesn’t allow you to do ANYTHING unless you pay.

Waste of time

They make you pay for safety!!

I was hoping to use this app to track some wildfires that are actively in progress in my area as onX was the first app to pop up when I was trying to find this information. But onX has decided to lock this very useful safety feature behind a paywall.

Nice to know that this company values money more than people’s safety.

Useless when offline

I downloaded a HUGE area in low quality for offline map use. I mapped to my destination and it took me an hour deeper into the national forest than I wanted to go, then it wouldn’t let me reroute anywhere at all. I would select a spot, click “navigate” and nothing would happen. Then I closed the app and kept trying and although the button worked, it kept giving error messages (I don’t remember what they said, now) — it wouldn’t gps me anywhere at all even though I was well within the offline map I downloaded

Not worth it.

So many mistakes on names of lakes in my area actually dangerous for new comers to use in an emergency.

Response from developer

We'd love to hear more about this so we can make the necessary updates to our maps. Can you contact our support team at Help@onxmaps.com with more details surrounding the missing lakes (coordinates, lake names, etc.) so we can look into this?

Trails are not matching MVUM’s.

You guys have so much terrain and trails marked as closed in my neighborhood it is a little ridiculous. Roads to trailheads with pit toilets marked as closed. Clearly marked through routes shown as closed. COUNTY ROADS shown as closed. But not being able to keep up with the FREE MVUM’s is just sloppy work. If my dad didn’t want to know the name of the property owners of every ranch in eastern M, I would delete it. As far as off roading goes, it’s useless. You will miss more than half of the trails.
