Works as expected

I’m not sure why someone gave this one star. It worked first go for me. Took about 2 minutes. I liked I was able to start this while I was on a different floor in my house.

Response from developer

Thanks for sharing your experience! We're thrilled it worked quickly and smoothly for you — starting it from another floor is exactly the kind of convenience we designed it for. We really appreciate you taking the time to leave this feedback.

Useless app. We wasted $$

Any of the readings on usage, etc. don’t make any sense. It’ll show zero for days and then minus numbers. When I try to refresh it, it doesn’t do anything. I’m not even able to turn the mute button on and off. Waste of money and total frustration.

Response from developer

I'm really sorry to hear you're dealing with this — I completely understand the frustration. So we can figure out exactly what's going on and give you the right solution, could you help us with a few details? - Which product are you using? - Can you describe the issue in a bit more detail? Once we have these details, we'll be able to give you clear, specific steps to get things working properly again. We definitely don't want you to feel like this was a waste — we'll make this right.

Works decently well, some shortcomings

Currently, GeniLife is just hooked up as our oil level sensor. There seems to be no way to set the warning level - it’s hardcoded to ¼ tank, which is okay, but I’d like to modify it.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. The oil-level warning on GeniLife is currently fixed at ¼ tank and can't be adjusted by the user. I’ve passed your request for a configurable threshold to the product team for consideration in a future update. Let us know if you need any other help in the meantime.

Using with Radon Detector App does not work well with iPhone and iPad

App does not size well especially with iPad, text overlaps, and sometimes you have to shift to landscape, other times to portrait. App just appears to be poorly written.

Response from developer

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We have made some adaptations for the iPad version and will release them in the next version.

Salt generator

Decent app. Some flaws though, I can not set a schedule for the salt generator to simply go on and off. The only scenes available are for faults, which doesn’t make any sense. I was going to pay for the notification feature but without simple scenes available its rather useless. The only alerts have to do with faults and while that is good, there should be other options. Also it is not clear what devices work with the app. I see a bilge pump monitor on the app but have not for the life of me been able to figure out the model that will work with this app. But its free so how much can i really be upset.

working as advertised

it reliably detects power outage and sends me a notification to my phone. It's doing what it is advertised to do at a very reasonable price. If all my idiotic apps worked this well it would be a more beautiful world

Surge protector

Wasted my money and lots if time

Hello, What specific questions do you have? you can leave a message in the "Mine - Help and Feedback" section of the GeniLife App to provide feedback on your issue. We will reply to your questions regularly.

I applaud the ability to monitor a lot of things, BUT…

(Version 2.2.0 (39))
This app has so much potential, but falls 95% short because it doesn’t properly notify you when ‘switches’ trip, in reference to the mailbox switch I use it for. The program receives the notification from the switch, but FAILS to tell me it happened (sending a notification), so I still have to check my mailbox anyways, on a daily basis.
ALSO, the software DOES NOT allow me to add additional people to notify under “ADD FAMILY MEMBERS”, whether they are actually family or roommates, so that other people get the same notifications that I do.
You can press “ADD FAMILY MEMBERS” till the day you die, and it won’t do anything, except highlight the fact that you pressed the button, but NOT do anything beyond that.

The software needs a boost, and so far, the developers are just tubing the lazy river, with a cocktail in their hand.

Sad, because this software could be SO MUCH MORE!!
But the DEVS don’t care.

Response from developer

Hello, previously we prioritized developing other more urgent features. Now you can upgrade the app to version 2.3 to add family members, who will be able to use all devices in your family. In addition, regarding the issue of not receiving push messages from your phone when opening your mailbox, please confirm first. In the iPhone settings, go to "GeniLife - Notifications" and check if "Allow Notifications" is enabled after entering Notifications? Then in the GeniLife App's "Mine - Message Center", enter the message center and click on the "gear icon" in the upper right corner to check if the "enable notification" switch and the three switches below are all turned on? Finally, confirm if your mobile network is functioning properly. Only when these conditions are met can you receive push notifications from your phone when the message is opened. You can also create scenes in the GeniLife app to send text messages or make phone calls to notify you when your mailbox is opened.

Was able to set it up, but water level always says it high

I have this item setup without the sewage pump connected to it as I installed a brand new sewage pump with a built int float switch to replace the old one that lasted for 10 years. I have the sensors setup and are zip tied on the main pvc line and the sensors are about a foot apart in height. I only want the unit to alert me when water is high and not to interact with the sewage pump. I have the system mode set to water and it still says the water is high with no water being up to the first sensor. Any help would be appreciated

Not receiving notifications

I purchased the power failure alarm device so that I would receive notification if my freezer lost power. Today the breaker tripped, the device alarmed, but I did not receive a notification on my phone. I checked the notifications settings and everything appears to be set correctly. The alarm shows up in the message center, but no notifications.

Response from developer

Hello, The app's push notifications are using Google's push service. Due to network issues, your phone may not receive push notifications in a timely manner. If you want a more stable way to receive notifications, you can refer to the attachment to create an automated scenario where you will receive SMS or call reminders when your device alerts.

Idle time alarm timeout is maximum 999 seconds

One of the primary reasons that I bought this device is to know if the pump hasn't run in the past 24 hours. Unfortunately the pump idle time alarm has a maximum of 999 seconds which is less than 17 minutes, quite useless. I need for it to go to 86400 seconds in order to alert me to not running in a 24 hour period. Update: The developer responded to this review stating that they will increase the limit to 86400 seconds in a future version.

Response from developer

We have decided to adopt your suggestion and change the maximum idle timeout to 86400 seconds in future versions.

Update took away zone pics

Seems to work fine for the past 3 months… but the latest update took away the pics for each zone and you can’t rename the zones…. Stupid. Give us the option to name them and put the pics back

Response from developer

We have fixed the issue of photos not being displayed in version 1.5 and have adopted your suggestion. App users can leave comments for each area, and you can update the app to the latest version.
