back door hacks

By just having this app installed it will make your internet browser connection not secure. It has backdoor hacking in the code. Seriously?

Drains Battery

This app is terrible. It drains so much battery. If you forget to exit the app it will completely drain the battery in a couple of hours.

App uses too much battery

App uses too much battery in background. I don't give the app any user permissions yet it still uses a lot of background battery and stays open even when closed out draining 20-30% of my daily battery while off duty

Battery Killer

The app works better than it used to but it now eats your phone battery like it’s all you can eat pizza, nor can you walk and edit your log because it thinks you’re driving, nor can you be a passenger in another vehicle because it thinks you are driving… needs improvement on the battery front 41% battery running background for 4 hrs

Announces false info loudly

At any given time the app will announce that I am in violation of 14 hr work day, 11 hour driving time. I’m always well within my time or even better on my 10 hour break, trying to sleep when suddenly I hear a robot voice saying I’m in violation. Fix it.

Kills battery

App randomly drains the battery within the first 2hrs of work. Have to keep phone plugged in to keep phone charged enough to not shut off. Support gave the same basic recommendations as everything else, which do not work.

Garbage

This is total garbage. I have to use it for work. When connected to our gps in our vehicle, I get dinged for speeding all the time, when I’m not speeding. It’s total garbage.

Was too slow, but has improved

Takes forever to synchronize logs, save inspections, sometimes as long as 10 minutes. Tech support only suggests “clearing cache” before starting the app. I have over 100 apps on my IPhone 15ProMax with latest iOS18, use at least 35 daily and GeoTab is THE ONLY app on my phone with these performance and stability issues. Crashes / aborts frequently. Generally poor app they desperately needs a complete rewrite/recode.

UPDATE 29JAN26: There have been improvements made recently that make this app run much better than before. I’ll be the first to admit when I’m wrong about something, and I’m glad the big issues with synchronization and uploading/updating logs and inspections have been addressed.

Slightly concerned by the requirement to delete the app completely and then reinstall from scratch - something that PC and Windows users know all too well - for the improvements to appear, though.

Nonetheless, the app runs very well now, with the one exception of it categorizing and logging any time logged under an exemption as “personal conveyance” which I’m fairly sure is incorrect and could lead to confusion and maybe fines for the user/driver during an inspection by a particularly strict officer.

Unfortunately we can’t give 1/2 star rating here as my current rating would be 3 1/2 stars, so I can only upgrade my original 2-stars rating to a 3.

Destroys battery life

Holy moly is this app pure garbage. Logs out constantly, destroys your battery life as it runs constantly in the background. iPhones are hot garbage to begin with but this app kills my battery in about 1 hour. The remedy is to clear it from the open apps or whatever apple does, but being able to limit background data like a normal phone (android) would probably rectify the issue.

Lag

Im not a professional driver but i do drive a truck that is net over 5500kg for my job. Im forced to use this app by my company. It would be a decent app but the lag is unbelievable. I spend an insane amount of time waiting to verify my logs while i could be doing my actual job.

too many glitches

This is the worst logbook app I’ve ever used. It has way too many glitches. For example, when you stop and try to switch to On‑Duty or Off‑Duty, the app still shows that you’re driving, and it can stay like that for several minutes. The pre‑trip also glitches out all the time. There are just too many issues. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone.

Battery use

This app is so unoptimized, I had 80% battery on my phone before bed, woke up to the battery being dead from the overly intense background usage. Fix your app please.

Motion sensors should only be for the cv

When I leave the truck and get in my own car, the motion sensors SHOULD NOT BE violating me!
Whenever a new update is ready, it is difficult to find the activation, then NO INDICATION is given that it even happened!

Makes keeping logs simple

I have found Geotab pretty simple to use. I love the way it automatically takes me out of driving when I stop and back in driving status once I start moving again. 2 hour violation warning reminder is handy.

My only complaint is the safety reporting must be set to say speeding is anything over the speed limit, so going 58 in a 55 or 68 in a 65 shows me speeding all the time. I try to stay with traffic flow to avoid every vehicle on the road going around me as lane changes are accident opportunities.
