Horrible App

I never leave reviews so that’s saying something right there. Customer service has been timely and responsive but the app is not user friendly and constantly freezes requiring me to quit it and go back in. I’ve sat in my car before waiting for the app to load so I can actually go into my house. Because of this and the difficulty to just add an additional sensor, because the website isn’t very user friendly either - it’s basically a sales site -, I’m switching to a different company. I’d rather pay more and have reliable service than have to deal with the inconsistencies. Very disappointing.

Great service, terrible app

It seems like the app is some kind of hybrid app (PhoneGap, Cordova), which makes for less than stellar web-like UI. Plus, it seems to store the last known state before updating the state of the alarm when it reads data from the backend service. So when I get close to my house, and my phone is on faint Wi-Fi from my router inside, I log in to the app and see “Disarmed”, and then open the door to alarms blaring. First consider moving to something like Xamarin if you want to go cross platform, and please don’t store the last known state. Show a loading modal before you should the main screen.

Needs a MAJOR update ASAP!

This app is extremely outdated it takes forever to load I find I have to open the app 5-10 minutes before arriving home to give it time to load so I can disarm my home. The last update according to the main page was 6 months ago which in my opinion is unacceptable! I also keep getting a message saying "New version is available" but it never changes the version number.

App freezes

It takes nearly 5 minutes for the app to open up at times.

Won't open.

The idea is really cool, and it's very handy to be able to check and see if my daughter set the alarm and if she didn't, I can set it any where I am.

The thing that is a pain though, is it takes a long time to open. It actually freezes and then the alarm goes off and I have to tell the monitoring company to not send the police. It freezes more than not. It does it to me, and my wife and my daughter, as well. I've called and complained about this and Get safe doesn't know why it's doing this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. Same thing.

App getting better. Needs TouchID

As GetSafe adds more home security z-wave options, it is getting better and better. The app is fine, except that it requires user identification every time the app is loaded. In concept this is fine, but the interface for the PIN number requires very precise finger placement on the screen, which leads to a high error rate and slow number entry. An option to use TouchID would be much appreciated.

Love it!

I love controlling my system entirely from my phone. The app is smooth. Would love to see the app with Apple Watch capability.

Works as advertised

Easily controlled by the app and no need for a fancy console like advertised by competitors. Hope they will bring more variety sensors to the market soon. Customer support very responsive.

Great system

This is a really good home security system. I really like how it uses wifi primarily. The app has a good interface my only issue is there is no panic feature. It is on the keyfob but people leave that with their keys. Most people have there phone with them 24/7. Very easy to add devices to this system. Very easy to set up and secure your home from your phone.

System availability questionable

As this is the primary method of managing your system one would expect a high availability configuration with system redundancy. Nothing is local to your device, you're basically using this app to communicate with their company server. Because of this sadly it's easy to find yourself in a position requiring a forced alert just to enter you home. A key fob is available but you'll need to pay extra.

When it works, and to be fair it does most of the time, it does have a nice feature set.
