Full of bugs
It’s full of bugs from the beginning. Trying to login, buggy. Keeps showing me sign in error message. I get through Then I try to sign up using navegante subscription, bug message saying I can’t sign up without a valid navegante subscription ( which I do). Paid the annual subscription fee cause I needed to use it. Now when I need a bike, the dock station doesn’t show up on the map or says no bikes available when there is. Seriously one of the worst apps I’ve used in my life. Also I’ve emailed them about these issues and ZERO response. Called them and line just plays music no one ever answers after 30 minutes

Terrible app/experience
Really wanted to rent bikes in Lisbon but it won’t let us create an account. After trying many different email addresses it kept saying we were already users/in system. But we are not.

It is extremely disappointing to see how poorly the GIRA app functions. For a service that is essential to mobility in Lisbon, the app fails at the most basic level—I am unable to log in, even though the same credentials work correctly on the website.
It is difficult to understand how such a fundamental issue can persist in an app that is meant to support daily transportation. The very low rating on the App Store sadly reflects the current user experience.
This is more than a minor technical problem. A public service like GIRA represents the city and, to some extent, the country. In its current state, the app damages that reputation. I sincerely hope those responsible take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to meet acceptable standards.

Unbelievably bad
I wasted an hour of our day in Lisbon trying to undock 2 bikes for my wife and me. Got it to put a €300 pending charge on my credit card - twice! A day pass eventually appeared in the app the day after we left Lisbon and and another the day after that. Passes expire after 24 hours so we can’t even use them when we’re back in Lisbon next week.

Just adding a "me too" to the pile. Couldn't even sign up. I do have a NIF and a local phone number, but the app just says "communication error" on trying to register.
That's after one realizes that the password policy error message is poorly done, of course. "Minimum 8 characters" seems to be the only error message available, even if the actual error is "add a special character to your password".

Not tourist friendly
Hurdles to set up ultimately failed at the subscription. Neither pay pal nor visa would complete the process. No Apple Pay or google pay options

"Ideal for tourists" but only good if you have an American address; no good for Canadians.
User Invalid
Tried to register. Asked me for a TIN (whatever that is when it's at home?!) then told me User already in system. So tried to login. Told me User not in system. So which is it??? Shame this app doesn't work well for tourists as there are far more Gira stations around Lisbon than Lime and the bikes are much cleaner/ better maintained. But if you can register, it's não vai!!

I’ve tried to get a bike so many times. So much time wasted waiting for the app spinning. So much potential but it just makes it useless when you can’t unlock the bikes
