Title says it all. Would be great if it were free but it’s not. Won’t pay to find friends when I can use other apps for that
Not enough people there
I signed up for a year now I feel stuck & upset. People don’t answer or there last signed in was 6 months ago. 3 months like why they even allowed that? Wasting others time.
Expensive membership fee
Dang this membership fee is not cheap - 20$ a month or 100$ a year. Thats my water bill. Thats not including the additional fees you pay for events, so I guess you CAN put a price on loneliness. You can’t see the pricing until you submit an application so that was a huge bummer to realize there’s a big paywall. Honestly for that money, just pay entry to a fun event and put your extrovert cap on.

The best of gal culture brought to you via an app and the Girlgroup community
Joined shortly after moving to LA almost 2 years ago to meet new friends and this group was such a find! Yes, there is an application review process. Yes, there is a membership fee and some events may have a ticketing cost. Yes, it’s currently only available in a few select cities. But what that does bring is some buy-in from everyone in the community to show up authentically and have a little skin in the game in meeting new people consistently. You can always follow girlgroup on socials to stay apprised of the events open to non-members and expansion to other markets. But the app does great to facilitate the community that is built in a location and they are always adding new features.

Scam
This app requires you to pay for membership, and then pay for events. It’s like a sorority but worse.
Super weird
First of all you have to select your location, but it only has 5 cities listed. If you don’t live in one of those five, you get dumped in the “other” category. Also, you can’t just make an account, you have to submit an application just to have a profile on the app.
Terrible, no access
I attempted to create a profile a YEAR ago. All it let me do was add 3 photos and then i was put on a “waitlist”. I cant delete or cancel the request and it doesn’t let me delete the photos as it requires 3. So now i just have my face/identity jist sitting in an empty account subject to getting misused.
It says i would be updated but i have never gotten any updates or notifications and im not sure how i would be updated if it didnt allow me to login with an email.
Terrible app, terrible engineers/builders, waste of time.

Literally the best app for the girlies!!!
I never take the time to review any app but I NEEDED to for this. I had the app downloaded since the launched, but started actively attending events and became a member in August ‘25! Since then I have attended almost 20 events where I walk out with new relationships with different girlies. I personally was never in a sorority, but this is truly the most inclusive sorority like app! I use “sorority” because there’s officially hosted social, health, and philanthropic events, but also everyone is encouraged to make their own events! I joined this because I wanted a way to have fun after work and have events to look forward to. Now every month I have at least THREE free events to attend! You truly get out what you put in it. This community is truly what I needed as I juggle working full time & attending grad school. Everyone is so supportive from the CEO & co-founders, the developers, and the girlies in the community. Now that’s about what the app is all about. As far as the tech side, I’ve noticed a few updates throughout the few months I’ve been here & they are definitely making it as user friendly as possible. My fave feature is that you can click who attended event and then message them, which is great when you may forget someone’s name but recognize them from their profile pic! Overall, Great app to form your own community & make friends <3

I’ve been a member for over a year and have met a lot of great friends at the events that are posted every month, there’s quite a few free events which made the membership worthwhile since the beginning, it’s the best way to meet new friends if you live in Los Angeles and want to try new things and build a community.

Girlgroup is one of the best things to happen to LA and I’m excited to see where it goes. This platform is fantastic for connecting with new friends, trying new things, and having the best community around you. Happy to have found this network 💜

Room to grow
Love the group and have made some good friends. Biggest negative is the lack of the app outside of the Apple platform. I feel it’s restrictive and limiting. It should be made a high priority to make the group more assessable to all women.
Location problem
Pretty much you gotta be in LA, NYC or Chicago to use the app. So if you don’t live there, don’t bother.

Put on the waitlist for months on months just to have to pay $20 if you get accepted is insane

Not only are you waitlisted for months and months the app sits on your phone and sits there until you are given the option to pay for it. Ridiculous who do they think they are? You can go to BFF or fb groups for free.
COST MONEY!
The transparency of the app is garbage. They make you go through a process of questions, entering in your information, profile pics, and bio. Once submitted, your profile needs to get approved and then they hit you with a $20 subscription fee! Why go through all the process of entering you PERSONAL information and then revealing you are required to purchase a subscription in order to continue using the app? If you are looking for friends and wanting to pay an app to make friends this app is for you. I will be deleting this app.

Take the plunge!
I was looking into Bumble and other options awhile ago to see if I could find an app that would connect me to more girls. No men allowed, just women who have similar goals and fun in life. I wasn't able to find anything that I wanted until I saw a Tiktok ad pop up about Girls Group 😭🥴 I was definitely intrigued and I wanted to meet more friends who I could naturally connect with. Even though the app asked to apply and pay, I knew if it didn't work out, I could cancel at any point. Well, it's been 7 months in and I'm still here! Melissa and Shoshana are just amazing at leading our girl groups and finding fun activities for us to sign up for! They're the glue to get us together and have a fun time 💜

Waste of time
Not only did I have to fill out an “application” but was waitlisted. Then in order for me to actually use the app I have to pay $20 a month? To what-make friends? And it’s not like I’m being guarantee automatic friends when I download. I can kinda understand the putting in the bio, 3 cute photos and whatever- I just thought it was for my profile. To go through that whole process - then find out I need to wait till someone approves my “application” all for me to be forced to pay for something I don’t even know if I like.
So before you can even see what the app actually looks like or how it works your requirement is that I pay $20 a month (and that’s the basic fee for I guess the basic plan) this was honestly a waste of time and energy
