About
Can you still find that line you underlined?
The sentences you mark in a print book vanish the moment you close it. Girokers is a reading journal that keeps them where you can come back to them.
Scan it, and it's text
Point your camera at the page and Girokers types out the lines you underlined. Pick the ones worth keeping, and you're done. It reads books in Korean, English, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese — including Japanese and Chinese written vertically. You can also type sentences in by hand.
Your sentences come back to you
At a time you pick, you'll get a notification with a sentence you saved. The line you keep today will find you again one day, out of the blue.
Collect on your phone, write on your computer
Open your journal at girokgirok.com and weave your quotes into your own writing. Export your draft as a Markdown file, and its headings and quotes keep their formatting in Notion, Obsidian, and other writing apps.
Your books and quotes, all in one place
• Library: see what you're reading, what you've finished, and what you've dipped into, at a glance
• Projects: group books together for work that spans many titles — a thesis, an essay, a script
• Share cards: turn a favorite sentence into a card and share it
• Footnotes: add a number to a word, then scan the footnote at the bottom of the page to keep them together
• Export as a table: download your journal as a spreadsheet (CSV)
