Such a refreshing take on social media
I hope that Gistvox goes supersonic because the spoken word holds such power.
I sit here, 10pm in England, my darkened room filled with the warmth of human voice. Rather than being overstimulated by a constant stream of images or posts, I Instead find myself feeling calmed. The feeling you get when you are with someone that you are totally at ease with, listening to them telling you about their day, their experience or their life.
This is a beautiful idea, I want to thank you for creating something that I hope transforms peoples lives. Especially for those people who may live alone, where they may not speak to someone from one day to the next, the act of talking is therapeutic and this app has the potential to actually heal.

The best app
Brilliant app with a vibrant growing community. Lots of ways to interact with people. Everything is done by voice notes. I think this is a great app to replace scrolling with something a bit more social.

Developers, the blocking function isn’t working.

Brilliant idea, well executed.
Gistvox proves you don’t need a broadcast license, deep pockets, or a studio to have a voice. In today’s algorithm-driven, AI-saturated culture, your *story* is the only thing that can’t be replicated, generated, or told by anyone else. I love that GistVox provides a place to tell your stories, both big and small, like humans have for centuries… to learn, to grow, entertain, and change. The app is well-designed, the developers are anticipatory and responsive, and the UX is seamless. Can’t wait for the web app!

Fun Idea, Needs Development
The app is fun but there are few opportunities for creators to thrive. This platform is perfect for ASMR, impressions, live broadcasts, collaborative mini-podcasts, and occasional ads to generate revenue. You could also offer a package subscription for creators who want to post more long form, and maybe an incentive to pay them back if they generate a certain amt of views. None of those things are accessible or heavily encouraged on the app. So much potential, but you aren’t leaning into what we already know works. The interface is also boring, which will fail to keep people on it for very long. I want it to succeed. But I also realize there are so many nonexistent features that would have launched this app into the mainstream a long time ago. You still have time!

Like most things advertised on Facebook; it’s not worth going there. The pages don't fit on the iPhone screen, so stuff gets cut off. In the App Store listing, it says “in-app purchases”, but they aren't laid out. Is there a premium version with more features? Do they surprise you with a bill? Who knows? Trust Pilot says the developer has hidden his identity. Let's see…new app; advertised on Facebook; the only reviews are glowing five-star ones from a small group; secretive source…nah.

Review of jist box app
This app is fun for people to use, but unfortunately, it’s not 100% accessible for blind people. Voiceover (apples screen reader) does not announce buttons that should be labeled such as the record button. This makes it hard to know which buttons do what.

I’ve wanted more voices and less doom scrolling in my life. This app makes my friends and family feel closer through their voices and gives my brain a lovely screen break.

Radio Reinvented
So much of social media today is in the form of the written word, which I love in its rightful place, or a snapshot. It almost always communicates that life is great! Life is great… and complicated. Our voices share that nuance in ways that the written word and photographs cannot. Gistvox, gives us the opportunity to share the trivial, the profound, our joys, and sorrows in our own voice. Reminiscent of the days of radio, which for me has been almost completely eclipsed by the use of podcasts and audiobooks, Gistvox gives us the opportunity to share, to listen, to consider.
