About
Lanes turns a GitHub repository's history into a commit graph you can read at a glance. Every branch gets its own lane, so you can see where work forked, where it merged back, and what's still in flight. Your pull requests and issues sit right beside it, in one inbox.
Built for iPhone and iPad, it's the quickest way to answer "where is that branch?", "what's waiting on my review?" and "what changed since this morning?" from wherever you are.
THE COMMIT GRAPH
• Forks and merges curve between lanes, with each author's avatar on their commits.
• Lanes loads the default branch and the 39 most recently active others, so you see the work that matters, even in repositories with hundreds of old branches.
• Tap a commit to light up the trail it came from and dim everything else, with chips naming the branches that contain it.
• Touch and hold for the details: changed files with line counts, parent and child commits to walk through, and a link to the full diff.
• Swipe a row to copy its SHA, tag it, or open it on GitHub.
• Search for a branch, a tag or a commit SHA and jump straight to it.
• Branches with a pull request show its number, coloured by state.
BRANCHES AT A GLANCE
• Switch from Commits to Branches and the commits fall away, leaving the shape of the work: each branch under the one it came from, in the order it happened.
• On iPad, a branch map reads left to right across the days.
• See how far each branch is ahead of its parent, and how far behind.
• Merged branches fold back into their line, or hide them with one tap.
TAGS
• Browse every tag, newest first, and jump to any of them.
• Tag a commit in a couple of taps. Lanes checks the name as you type and suggests the next patch, minor and major version. Tags stay as drafts on your device until you push them.
ONE INBOX FOR PULL REQUESTS AND ISSUES
• Every open pull request and issue you're part of, across all your repositories.
• Pull requests grouped into Yours, Reviewing and Mentioned, each with a timeline of reviews, pushes, CI results and mentions.
• Stacked pull requests drawn as a stack, down to the branch they land on.
• Issues with their labels, milestone, comments and GitHub Projects status.
• What's new since you last looked is marked and listed first.
• Inboxes keep themselves current while open, and go easy on your GitHub quota.
THOUGHTFUL BY DESIGN
• Everything is cached, so repositories and inboxes open instantly.
• lanes:// links open a repository, its pull requests or its issues from anywhere.
• Try the built-in demo before signing in, or add a public repository by URL without an account.
• Lanes Help explains every feature, under Settings.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Lanes talks to GitHub directly and to no one else. There's no Lanes account, no server in the middle, no analytics and no ads. You sign in with GitHub in your browser and your token stays in the Keychain. Lanes isn't a git client: the only thing it ever writes to GitHub is a tag you choose to push.
Also available for Mac.
