Right Idea - Poor UX

With Duolingo style engagement this app will certainly create a fun interactive way to learn social skills.

Major flaw : the app is unusable at times due to the UI. At times scrolling isn’t possible, sentences are truncated with … preventing you from knowing what is written down. I’ve had the app for 10 minutes and experienced 3 different instances.

Gleam

Makes you take a personality test. Makes you straight to a free trial that’ll charge you money in a week.

Doesn’t work

If you are on MacBook, do not get unless if you want to buy a membership. I want to go to my next lesson but I’m stuck in the free trial pop up ad that has one “x” button that doesn’t do anything.

AI slop by tech bros

They use AI art for every single tidbit they give you and I’m pretty sure they used AI for the rest of the app too, I tried a lesson and it directly ripped off The Charisma Myth AND didn’t cite it so that non-readers wouldn’t realize. Everything in this app is free knowledge, go follow a tiktok account about charisma that animates tidbits from these books instead.

From the get-go they pull every trick to make the app appear magical and like it’s doing more than it actually is. The entire thing is disrespectful of your intelligence and your time. Stop playing with the “personalizing a plan for you” and making the user wait for funsies, it’s cheesy asf. It’s clearly one course for everyone, you just forced us to fill out a survey to understand your user base 😭

For try hard extroverts, not at all for introverts

It’s set up to calm extroverts who try too hard to make a great impression, and nothing to do with actual interactions.

Absolute BS

Dont even try it; just like everybother app they squeeze you on a payment and then steal over a fancy UI that claude coded. Dont waste your
Time

Horrible

They make you answer questions then pay to get help.

Ugh

Its good until you have to pay

Money money money

Makes you answer questions then makes you pay, a 7 day free trial doesn’t do anything. This app should be free

social skills

this app has many recommendations to improve your social skills, and coming from someone why got a 29/100 score 😅

Gleam.

Gleam is amazing I don’t know what to say! Except now I do know what to say. Look. Gleam is the best thing that helped me ever. You should try it out for free!

They scam you into buying the subscription

During onboarding, they’ll mention that a reminder about the trial period ending will be given. Not true - and now you’re stuck with a subscription you don’t want.

Scammy

It’s advertised as being similar to Duolingo however, the most appealing factor of Duolingo is that it’s free to use while this will charge you 70 bucks and there’s no way to get around it or continue with the supposed free trial. Not worth your time downloading.

Scam

Debit my account without my permission and refused to give me my money.

Hope it works

Just now starting it and it looks promising

Gleam review

I’m a real person btw. Gleam is an amazing app, I learned a lot just from one lesson. This app also resembles Duolingo in a way but the paywall makes it different from Duolingo. You have to pay for the subscription to the app to use it past your first module which I think is unfair to people who really want to learn and get better social skills.

Social intelligence is 70 dollars a year?

What a dumb idea. The app developers really said huh I know a great way to get money I’ll make people pay for some Ai to rant about the same things over again. You cannot be more dumb there’s no way people have actually listened to this. Go hug a tree

Interesting Lessons

I am usually skeptical of fads and especially things with AI art. But the lessons have been nice and the experience has been a pleasant surprise. I have gotten to where I even look forward to the next day to do another lesson (since I use the free version).

I don't know why everyone is hating.

It's a really good app it makes you feel very confident and it actually helps. if your to poor to pay $70 a year then idk that's crazy there is also a deal happening right now that is 50% off so now it's $35. also it's like duolingo you have a specific amount of energy so yes it is free you just have to keep coming back to the app every day for a streak. Also people have been telling me that right after the survey it sent them right to the paying page, and then they didn't do anything and just deleted it. You have to close the tab and then just go right back to the app and boom you can start!
