Yay!
TL;DR: a speedy, simple app that mostly Just Works
I am pleased with the 3.0 update! The new paywall is implemented sensibly and is a reasonable price. If you’re trying to replace your background super easily, or obscure yourself from a video, I recommend this app.
There are a few changes I’d enjoy seeing, like:
- allowing you to see the result when you tap different effects instead of needing to dismiss the whole effects drawer (since it sits in front of the video)
- add back the Zoom Motion effect, if you can fix the bug that it used to have in background mode
- support for pinch to zoom
- make certain effects extend beyond the very edges of the subject, such as making the Pixel effect only display whole pixels rather than cutting them off at the border (maybe this is impossible to achieve, but it would be cool)

Profit > Potential
i love unique, creative stuff like this. i’m always looking for the weirdest apps to create cutting edge interesting audio/visual experiences. but like, you have to pay individually for each little filter and feature? it’s a huge ask to make an ios app this paywalled and expensive, so i’m gonna have to pass. might be cheaper to just get an adobe subscription. or just download touchdesigner for free and learn/AI some code and make stuff infinitely crazier than these cute, basic little mask filters.

Bad faith update!!
The update REMOVED previous options. Not only not cool, but a bad business model! It would have been smarter to let us early adopters keep features and leave good reviews. Instead, dev punked us, and now he gets bad reviews, bad vibes and early users who will never pay an “upgrade” after options were yanked.

Thexupdate REMOVED previous options I had!! Not cool at all. And bad business model. It would have been smarter to let us early adopters keep features and leave good reviews rather than punk us as most of us will never pay for an “upgrade” for what we had.
Paid options are now paywalled
I previously paid for the app (with a couple of filters), but now those are paywalled and I would need to pay again? Sorry, not happening!
At least, leave the original filters unlocked for people who purchased to app before the update.

I see what you did there
You're just going to pretend that I did not receive all of the filters during your promotion? I cannot access them anymore. Just the static. Just one filter. I see what you did there.
waste
There is a charge for updating, which is really ugly.
Bad faith update!!
I was going to leave a positive review cuz I like the app functionality. But then I find the update has actually REMOVED some previous options. Not cool, as they say, and for me at least, it is a COUNTER-incentive to pay for an upgrade.
Unfortunate update.
The app is pretty good, but the latest update took basic functionality and put it behind a paywall.
I downloaded the app a month ago, and I had access to about a dozen filters, if memory serves. With the latest update, I have access to *one* filter, unless I pay to unlock others.
I have nothing against putting functionality behind a paywall, but locking *previously available* functionality away without even mentioning it in the release notes? That’s low.

Response from developer
Hi, I’m the new owner of the app. I’ve just released a new version with a redesigned interface for Liquid Glass, and all previous purchasers have all of the filters unlocked. I hope you’ll give it another try — I’d love to hear what you think!
Another app stealing money
Got this app when it was $2. Now I have to pay $13 even though I already bought the app? No thank you
Paid app is now free app
I paid for Veil before 2.0 version being released. I didn’t get everything on 2.0 version!
Promising
Would be great if it had the option to just blur the face. Instructions are a bit lacking, does not seem to save the blurred pictures no matter the settings
Works How?
Nice idea but interface is lacking in instructions.
Very disappointed!

Well done
Very well done. Is it possible to have it blur only faces?
Really neat!
I have not seen another app do this trick. I especially like how well the sepia filter works. Good job!
