App keeps crashing

The app keeps crashing. Just after moments I paid my subscription. 😢😢 Please sort this out and if you can’t, please refund my money. Thanks.

EXCELLENT!

This is absolutely incredible! I can now access all my memories, photos, and everything else I’ve ever saved.

Kinda boring

Not much here interesting. Also tried to invite friends in the friends section and it doesn’t even work

Excellent travel tracker, especially if you take lots of photos

I am a professional photographer who travels quite a bit. If I’m not taking photos with my iPhone I’m using my Sony cameras which are geotagged so they show up on this app when I upload them to my Photos library. So its the best of both worlds! All your iPhone photos are already geotagged (unless you turned that off) so those show up here too.!

Hi there, Thank you for the kind and constructive feedback. It's great to hear that you're enjoying using the app. Thanks, Shihab

Can’t use without Paying

Globetrotter app fails to meet the expectations Its limited destination coverage, incomplete information, lackluster interface, and restricted functionality all contribute to a un-superior user experience. Combining this with the forced subscription coupled with the lack of value for money further diminish the app's appeal. For that mainly, I cannot recommend the Globetrotter app as a reliable or worthwhile companion for travelers. I understand this is a app is by a small developer and they need money somehow, still.

Edit: It still is a poor quality app with barely any useable features.

Hi there,  Thank you for the constructive feedback. These have all been addressed with the latest set of updates, and the app has been improved upon to a tremendous extent. The paywall has also been rethought and pricing has been adjusted. More parts of the app are now usable without a paywall being presented too. Thanks,  Shihab

Good Idea, Bad app

Downloaded and the first think I see is is a paywall subscription, No way to even skip it, very annoying and unnecessary.
2 stars because this app is a good idea

Cool App; Disappointing Onboarding

I found the onboarding experience to be incredibly frustrating and borderline deceptive (even though I am giving the developer the benefit of the doubt that it wasn’t their intention). What I would have appreciated is if the payment screen included a fourth option that was clearly labeled as a free trial instead of grouping the free trial with selecting a monthly or yearly subscription. I went down the yearly route and immediately cancelled the subscription and deleted the app and still managed to get charged.

The app overall looks good and it’s very close to being perfect for me, but I feel like the app could benefit from addition UX review. The app isn’t difficult to understand or navigate per se, but it isn’t particularly intuitive either and I felt like I was always tapping on random UI elements to eventually get where I wanted to go in the interface.

missing a good start

when I was using the app, I didn't experienced a good start. all the content was behind a paywall also a 3-day free trial is not enough for such an app! I want to have at least a week for testing it then decide if I wanna actually pay or not. hope you also offer a freemium use soon. thanks! 2 star for good screenshots only👍

Durch Paywall blockiert

Ich wollte die App ausprobieren, aber als ich kurz die App gewechselt habe und zurückkam, zwang die App mich zum Kaufen ohne andere Option. Wirklich ausprobieren ist das nicht… Sehr Benutzer-unfreundlich 😟

Fantastic for reviewing travel photos

Brilliant app and a great idea. Fun to revisit my vacations and the many photos I have taken. Unfair to slam the developer for pricing, worth every penny in my opinion.

Love the idea but not for $20/yr

Great idea, beautiful design. Even though I travel a lot, it’s not worth $20/year. I’d cheerfully pay $20 once.

After initial onboarding, there needs to be a rescan feature. The app shows me as having visited some countries I didn’t visit because of incorrect geotags, and it missed some countries that should’ve been included but were apparently skipped.

Also, Puerto Rico shouldn’t be shown as a separate country.

Hi there, Thank you for the insightful feedback. The latest version now lets you try the app out for free on initial app launch, and all prices have been reduced substantially. You can tap the profile icon in the highlights tab, or via the app's settings section, reset the travel highlights if something doesn't look right. Hope this helps! Thanks, Shihab

Ohne Abo oder Kauf nicht lauffähig

Eine interessante App prinzipiell. Leider läuft sie nicht ohne Abo, ich habe sie wieder gelÜscht und werde in einem halben Jahr nochmal reinschauen.

How did we get to this state of Apps that require a subscription just to run

Limit access, give a demo. Anything but require a subscription just to see if the app is any good.

Unskippable subscription screen

This may be a great app. But it requires you to subscribe before you can even try it out, so I deleted it before I even got a chance to try it. I have no problem paying a subscription for an app that I find useful, but it seems scammy and borderline unethical to force me to subscribe before I can even try it out. This kind of thing seems intentionally designed to trick people into subscribing and/or forgetting to cancel their subscription. I hope the developer rethinks this design choice. It seemed like an app I might even be willing to pay for, but I just can’t support an app that operates like this.

Seems great but crashes…

I have about 43,000 photos in my library (iCloud), so perhaps it’s choking somewhere along the line but if I tap the “calendar” icon the app freezes and eventually crashes to my Home Screen. It would be nice if there was a better way to alter the “routes” that it selects. Although perhaps that’s what the calendar button does. The routes seem to default to a single day, I’d like to be able to extend them on either side to create multi day routes. Also I can’t see an easy way to edit the photos appearing in memories (either removing or adding). The “altitude“ listing seems a bit useless as it only has land and sky listed with sky having only 3 photos (I’ve taken thousands of photos on various mountains at various elevations). The app icons are too light coloured and hard to see (especially the”close” button). Seems like a nice app but a bit unusable for me in its current state. I do appreciate the fact that the app doesn’t use any tracking or send any data of device, so a bonus star for that.

Great bones! Onboarding could use refinement.

I see a ton of potential in this app, it’s really well designed and feels right at home on iOS.

However the onboarding flow could use a little bit of refinement, which is likely what caused the current 1 star reviews:

The paywall is displayed before I’ve ever had a chance to look at the app. It’s too early for me to decide if I’m going to pay, I don’t even know what I’m paying for yet! Yes, the monthly subscription does feature a 7 day free trial which would allow me to try it out and then cancel - But that comes with a burden on me to remember to cancel.

I would recommend the developer explore ways to allow a brief exploration of the app, for example showing me the app UI, but with dummy data, before then prompting me to choose if I’m going to pay for it.

Beautiful but overpriced

The app’s design is amazing and conforms well to Apple’s human interface guidelines. It’s a cool concept, and I would pay for it, but a subscription for an app with no true utility is not worth it, and the lifetime purchase is too expensive for an app that doesn’t help you plan your trips or anything. The app says in its welcome sequence that it doesn’t use any third-party APIs, so there is really no excuse for the high cost.

Bring a breath of fresh air to your photos

My photo library is my journal and this app is a fantastic way to relive them and the trips I’ve taken. A rare privacy prioritising app that delivers a first class native experience, I’ll gladly support it and subscribe

Very expensive, can’t hide images

Very expensive for what it does. ÂŁ2.99 per week is crazy.

Big problem: I have photos from friends in countries I’ve never visited and want to hide them from the map without deleting them, doesn’t seem to be an option. You can remove the whole country from your “highlights” but that does not hide it from the map.

Huge oversight for such an expensive app.
