Most ingredient apps give a product one score, as if everyone had the same skin. The same serum can be excellent for dry, resilient skin and wrong for reactive skin. Glowify scores a product against yours. WHY THE NUMBER IS DIFFERENT — Personal, not universal. Irritancy is weighted by how reactive you say you are. An ingredient earns points only if it addresses something you are actually working on. Anything on your avoid list caps the score outright instead of being traded away against benefits. — Position is read as concentration. An ingredient in the first 15% of a list counts at full weight; past the halfway mark it barely counts. Below the 1% line brands may list in any order, so Glowify does not pretend to a precision that isn't there. — It reads the whole shelf. Nobody uses one product. The interesting failures live between them: two acids bought a month apart, a retinoid with no sunscreen, a vitamin C serum quietly oxidised by a benzoyl peroxide wash.
