Doesn’t Work

The app doesn’t let me connect to any irc chat I try to.

Not native & complicated to use

Sadly the application isn’t a native iOS application. The UI is really complicated to use and it was only possible to configure the BNC networks from another client.

The channel overview show the topics of the channel with is mostly useless - instead of the latest messages maybe?

wonderful

incredible software, beautiful intuitive design, works perfectly with soju, literally couldn't ask for anything better thank you

Further development is needed

Inconvenient interface. there is no way to enter commands. a long connection to the servers. timeout error is common

Separate networks?

I don’t know if i’m missing something but i’m using a Soju bouncer and I wish I could separate IRC networks out so their channels aren’t mixed together as one alphabetised list - i want that categorised separation of network

Confusing

What’s the point of an IRC client that can’t store servers or pinned channels for a server? This is a mobile app. Connections come and go. A user can’t be expected to have to reenter server addresses on every app restart after a disconnect?

Forces TLS

Can I not disable certificate verification for local networks? Can’t even seem to use 6667

Works well!

I came from Palaver and was looking for more up to date ircv3 support. I’ve been using it for months connected to soju and it is all around a great client.

glad to see a build offered for iOS

this is a great, mobile friendly, bouncer compatible, IRC client :)

i’m grateful that the busy-work was done to get this packaged and distributed for iOS.

i only wish that a more recent and up-to-date build was offered.

however, the app works, and hooks right up to one’s bouncer instance, and is compatible with authorization tokens.

Good start, but very buggy

Very minimal, and bugs appear within 2mins of use—eg switch to buffer, away then back and messages get duplicated in scroll back. Push notifications use a third party relay—who knows if this will work long term. Should just use APN especially for a paid app. Essentially no configuration possible relative to classic clients. I am excited. Please develop further!

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. Please consider joining #goguma on libera.chat to discuss the usability issues you are encountering. Regarding APNs, you'd be delighted to learn that we actually use them. The relay server you are refering to is necessary for communicating with Apple's notification servers: APN authentication uses a developer certificate we sure don't want to release in the wild. A similar issue is also affecting Android users, and unfortunately for both platforms there is no way around it...

Lots of potential

Integration with Soju using the IRCv3 ChatHistory extension is a revolutionary IRC experience and functionally it's a great experience.

The UI in particularly though still needs a lot of work and lacks many customization features but I'm really looking forward to seeing this app mature.

Terrible

This client is terrible. It's extremely confusing to use, has no configuration at all, disconnects me from my network's non stop for no reason at all, and doesn't connect to my bouncer.

Don't waste your $1 on this, use a real client like Igloo.
