Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Goguma IRC at $0.99 against Mango IRC's $12.99. Goguma IRC also leads on review sentiment (42% vs 25%) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). Mango IRC's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.6) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Mango IRC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Goguma IRC has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Mango IRC's written reviews are positive against 42% of Goguma IRC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Mango IRC ships an update every 5 days, Goguma IRC every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
