Access to your Photo LIbrary Mandatory
This app requires you to give it access to your photo library. You can’t just upload an image, it has to be taken out of your photo library.
Oh and without photo you can’t proceed. It tells you „accounts with photos are 10 times more likely blablabla“ which I would happy to accept the malus without photo but you can’t proceed without a photo.
This feels like the app is blackmailing me to grant it access to my photo library. Hell no!

People be careful. When you use the app as a Young Girl, there will be many men over 50 (Scam) who will harass you, call you „Baby“ and will ask you for sexual actions in Return for Money or they offer you Money to „spoil“ you. This app is Not what it used to be. I used it myself two times to meet up with people nearby on my solo Trip, which luckily went Well After carefully checking their Profile. When signing into the App Users dont even have to identify their real existentence in any way. Textmassages often do not reach the other person and chats often either delete themselves or do Not appear the way they were After you closed the app. Also, After reporting any Scams or Fake accounts NOTHING happens. The app is highly unserious and I would not recommend to use it due to safety purposes!

Buggy. Filled with scammers
Notifications tab crashes the app. Suspected sextortion scammers and business proposal scammers.
People with different intentions
I got this app hoping to connect with others around me and where I’d be travelling to. So far, the only messages I’ve gotten have been from scammers(sugar daddy scams) and from guys looking for more. This isn’t supposed to be a dating app but it sure feels like a horrible one. Try your luck with other apps.

Fake accounts
Too many fake profiles and scammers on Going Solo. I encountered accounts that quickly moved chats off the app and attempted extortion. The app really needs better verification and moderation to protect users. Please be cautious.

Sehr gute App um Leute zu finden die Lust auf eine Reise haben oder einfach gemeinsam etwas zu unternehmen! Leider funktioniert die App nicht flüssig und manchmal steht die App ganz still.

Good in Theory
Loved the idea of this app but there’s def some fixes that need to be done. For example I am unable to edit or update my trip plans I create (if I want to change things I have to make an entirely new plan). I can’t change dates or rewrite the summary of the trip plan at all. When creating a plan you’re also only able to add one country. I feel like since most people are going to multiple countries when they make plans (especially for SEA plans) there should be a feature where you can add multiple countries that you’re trying to visit on your plan. It would def make looking for a plan that fits you wayyyy easier. I also wish there was a possibility for you to click on someone’s profile pic so you can zoom in more and see what they look like. There’s no way for me to gauge what the person I’m talking to looks like (it may just be user error and I have no idea what I’m doing but I’ll update this review if so). I also wish the bff buddy matching was free or at least semi-free. Kinda felt misguided into downloading this app thinking that feature would be free from ads I’ve seen on tiktok and Instagram. Maybe instead the developers could add a feature where non-paying members get 10 or 15 swipes on the bff matching while paying members get unlimited swipes.

While my first review was more on the constructive side, I’m really impressed with how they listened to user feedback and used it to make the app so much better! I absolutely love the new features and will definitely keep using this app for all my solo travel plans. <3

They’ll delete your account for no reason even if you have premium
All it takes is someone to wrongly accuse you of something and your account gets deleted. Wild!
Could be good but works pretty bad
Not user friendly at all, chats and messages appear and disappear, the overall experience is bad but the ideal behind the app is good

men ruin everything
I liked the app, but men keep trying to use it as a dating / hookup app and it’s very annoying. Makes me feel uncertain about doing any meet ups. I see they finally added a girls only setting to the chats and I was so happy about it but then saw you have to pay for it! I personally don’t think women should have to pay for it, for us it’s more of a safety / comfort concern.

Not a good experience
I don't recommend using this. The functionality to meet people in your city is not good at all, lots of other options out there to create nearby activities. The moderation is also not handled well.
Must have app for solo travelers
As someone who has traveled solo, I’ve tried countless apps to help me stay safe, find new experiences and connect with other travelers and locals & and this one stands out. The app layout made it user friendly, and was immediately able to plan my journey with new friends and discover all the hidden gems along my path!!
The ability to meet other solo travelers added the social life I desperately needed with my travels, but without the expense and pressure of the traditional group tours I’m used to
Whether you’re a seasoned solo traveler like I am or planning your first solo trip, this app is like having a whole friend group right in your pocket with all your same interests !! Going to be a life-time user for sure.

Honest review - I was skeptical downloading because of some other reviews about men in the app. But I was very happy to find that there are “goals only” plans and options to connect with only other woman. Really loved this app so far!
