About
GoldNest answers three questions every payday: are you on track, what is the
single most useful move you can make this month, and what has changed since
you last looked.
It is built specifically around how retirement actually works in Ghana -
SSNIT Tier 1, your Tier 2 mandatory scheme, and voluntary Tier 3 - and
around how people here actually earn, whether that is a formal salary,
informal income, or a student just starting out.
Everything stays on your phone. There is no account to create, no server to
sign in to, and no analytics of any kind. Nobody can see your income, your
debts or your pension figures, because none of it is ever sent anywhere.
The app works with no internet connection at all.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Know where you stand
One home screen tells you whether you are on track for the retirement income
you want, and names the one thing worth doing next instead of leaving you to
work it out from a wall of numbers.
Project your SSNIT pension properly
Tier 1 projections use the published SSNIT formula and your real contribution
history, including the 15-year minimum that decides whether you qualify at
all. Tier 2 and Tier 3 balances and growth sit alongside it, so you see the
whole picture rather than one third of it.
Clear your debts in the cheaper order
Run avalanche and snowball side by side on your real balances and interest
rates, see the payoff date and total interest for each, and find out which
one actually saves you more.
Build a budget that holds
Track income and expenses as line items, see your monthly surplus and savings
rate, and edit any figure in place.
Plan the retirement you want
Set a target monthly income and a horizon, then see exactly how much more per
month closes the gap. Or work the other way: enter what you can save and see
what it buys you. Save scenarios and compare them.
Check whether your cover is enough
A life-cover check against your dependants, income and existing policies,
with the gap stated plainly.
Do a monthly check-in
A short guided flow each payday that updates your figures, splits your
surplus across emergency fund, debt and long-term savings, and explains why
that split. It keeps a streak, because showing up monthly is most of the job.
See what waiting costs
Compound growth and drawdown tools with charts you can drag through year by
year, so the cost of starting five years later is a number rather than a
warning.
Keep it private and keep it safe
Lock the app with a PIN and Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint. Export an
encrypted backup protected by a passphrase only you know. Share a plan
summary as an image, a PDF or plain text when you want to, and never when
you do not.
Reminders and a home screen widget
Payday, quarterly and annual reminders scheduled on your device, and a widget
that keeps your headline figures one glance away.
PRIVACY
No account. No server. No analytics. No advertising. No tracking of any kind.
The app makes no network requests during normal use. Data you enter is stored
in the app's own private storage on your device and can be erased at any time
from Settings, or by deleting the app.
