Terrible

They force you to review before you even create an account.

They charge you a premium subscription just to add clubs to your bag

Pay wall

Unfortunately this app is cost-prohibitive. Why do I need another $40/year subscription. Completely absurd price point.

Make it a pay-for app once or add ads or something. Not everything should be this expensive.

Why would anyone pay for this?

Subscription model has gotten out of hand.

An app, that can be replaced by the notes app, but costs $40 a year

I think I’ll just look into my golf bag to see why clubs I have instead of downloading an app

Seriously, this is a type of app that should have ads to pay for your cloud costs, or some freemium model. I’m doubtful that anyone is making it past the subscription screen.

Paid app

Outrageously priced subscription app that you cannot use for free. Total waste of time to download.

Wasted Potential

Screw any app creator that advertises their product without specifically letting users know they don’t even offer a free option until they download the app and find out for themselves. Lame.

Waste of time

You can’t get thru without buying a subscription

Needs a trial. I’m not paying for something without seeing how it functions first

0/10

Paywall

When you first open the app you are asked questions about favorite brands where you buy your clubs etc then you are immediately asking to pay for a subscription without even getting to try any of the app cannot stand subscriptions for these little apps was looking forward to using but will not be paying for it

Not Free

App has NO functionality without paying for subscription. (Not even a trial. Why would I drop $40 on something when I don't even know what it can do for me?) Better off using ChatGPT to make you an excel sheet. Avoid.

Great App!

Golf Gear is a game changer for anyone managing a golf equipment collection or reselling clubs. The UI is clean and intuitive, and the AI valuation engine is where this app really shines. I tested it with my own inventory and the estimated values came back within five to ten percent of my own research within a fraction of the time. The deal analyzer feature is clever and really helps you make smarter decisions on trades and purchases. If you’re serious about golf gear, whether you’re a collector or a reseller, this is worth downloading. Highly recommend. Five stars.

Good app

The app is a good idea and the check deal feature is really cool and the only thing i’d change to the my bag is adding a search bar to find your stuff easily you do have to get a subscription to use but in my opinion it is worth it.

Response from developer

Hey Jackson, I really appreciate the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the app and like the idea. I added your suggestion for a search bar on each tab. I want to hook you up with a free year since you took the time to help me improve the app. Shoot me an email golfgearapp@gmail.com. I have a neat feature dropping tomorrow which I think will make the app something we all use on a weekly basis.

Awful!

Do not spend money on this. They value everything way off. The idea is good execution not good at all!

Response from developer

Hi there, first of all I want to thank you for trying out the app! I’m really glad you like the idea. The last few days we received a few reviews like this which urged us to take a deep dive into our appraisal system and make some significant changes. I am happy to give more details, just shoot me a message at golfgearapp@gmail.com. I hope you give the app another shot! Grateful for the feedback, the opportunity to improve and hopefully bring you back on.

Great UI, Terrible Pricing.

Undervalues everything I have put in so far by at LEAST 50% or market value. For starters it said a brand new Ghost Golf cart bag was $198, and a 2024 Cobra Darkspeed driver was $93. Not sure where they are pulling comps from, but needs severe work. Do not recommend.

Response from developer

Hey Jason, I thoroughly appreciate the feedback. On a positive note, I’m really glad you liked the UI! Your callout was extremely valid about the appraisal price estimates. We did a deep dive in our appraisal functionality and found some weak spots that have since been remediated. I really appreciate you helping us improve by providing feedback. I really hope you give the app another shot! Please reach out with any questions, I’m happy to fill you in on some of the finer details on the changes we made and the new value I’m seeing for the equipment you mentioned. Golfgearapp@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you soon. All the best!

Waste of time

The only way you are able to use this app is to pay, so I don’t understand why not just pay to download so you don’t waste peoples time by having them answer a lot of questions when they don’t know it’s pay only.

Response from developer

Hi Cristy, first of all I really want to thank you for downloading the app and leaving some feedback... even if the rating was unfortunate. A few things to address your concerns… First, when we first started the app, we offered a free trial. But new users would abuse it by uploading loads of gear during their trial, which costs us a decent amount of money to process, and then cancel the trial. So they would get their value, check some deals online, and then cancel before paying. It wasn’t fair to us so we had no choice but to remove the trial. Instead, we offer a super cheap weekly price that users can choose to try it out. If they like it, we suggest upgrading to a longer term subscription. Second, the onboarding process of the app is how we are able to really demonstrate the value of the app to new users. If we were to charge a fee to download the app, users would be turned away before ever learning about the app and both parties would lose out. Statistics show that pay-to-download is extremely less effective. Users who might love the app would never give it a shot. I hope this all makes sense. Again, I really appreciate the feedback and hope you come back in the future and give it a shot!
