Worst app ever
It keeps on getting stuck, I am typing g and it just guesses words - when I look up again there are new words present - I am typing discuss and it assumes discuss a new word voila ( discusscussed), so annoyed, it used to be so good last year, its so useless after the upgrade
Buggy sync
The app keeps saying that the sync fails and then I go check it manually and it looks fine, but literally every single time I open this app it says potential crashes my files might not have been able to sync. Developer bugs in the big 2026 is crazy.

For next update please
Some updates I would love to see in the future are fixing the hyperlink feature as it crashes my device and it would appear that many other people are experiencing the same issue. I would love a feature to manually add tabs to larger documents to easily find/take me to a page or section of my notes and pdf documents. I would also like to be able to turn off spell check all together and not have to go into each separate document. It is not familiar with medical terminology and underlines EVERYTHING

Poor microphone
The microphone is inaccurate and does not capture words correctly at all.
Most features behind a paywall
This app is great for note taking until you run out of free notes and have to pay a monthly subscription!
Change blue colour
App is great and very helpful, I really hope they allow you to change the blue colour on your documents in the future though.

Making worst updates like removing the lassoed word to be freely placed and the linear auto draw shapes
Constant refresh
I’ve been using Goodnotes for years, and it’s the best note taking app I can find for if you want to have links between the pages of your notebook. Now, however, every time I open the app it pauses and is unusable for a few seconds, at which point it refreshes and says it’s “updating my app experience” or something to that effect. This seems to have coincided with all the AI features I wish I could turn off, as well. I won’t leave the app for others since again, no one else does linking as well, but I really hate it and it’s massively soured the user experience.

Such a clean and fun experience to take my notes.
1 step forward 3 steps back
Updates for basic features like object aligning was needed. But what primed me to finally write a review? Loss of functionality in shapes. I genuinely care not for diagram mapping if it removes such basic a core feature such middle vertexes.
This was one more robust note apps that was commercially viable. Now it joins the trend of feature bloated, subscription-based corporate husks.

AWFUL customer service
genuinely an awful app if you have any issues at all. I submitted a work request NINE DAYS AGO and I haven’t received a single response. Their AI support bot is genuinely incompetent.
Document collaboration disappeared from non-subscription version?
It seems that the non-subscription version of this app no longer let’s you set up collaborative documents. This was a feature available until recently. If this feature was removed, I am surprised, since that is a reduction in the apps capability occuring after payment. Additionally, some pre-existing collaborative documents are no longer updating changes across collaborators.
I continue to value Goodnotes as the best all-around note-taking and sketching app. However, collaboration is a must for communication amongst my research group at a university.

the customer service does not help
I started to have issues since the beginning that I purchased the app, but I recently I had to reset and saved everything on iCloud, now that I am trying to get back , i losted files apparently and when I tried to ask assistance from customer service, they just sent me to make feedback and I have not heard from them since weeks.

Disappearing Notes
My typed notes are constantly disappearing from my pages (especially my sticky notes). I was really excited about the features offered, but I am getting really frustrated with constantly having to retype my notes because they keep deleting themselves immediately upon me finishing them.
