Video bookmark update still needed.
Been using for many, many years. Fantastic App.
This is the only app of this sort that i use. I used it to sign and return documents for both probates and property sales.
Something changed, though. The save video bookmark no longer works to download videos from certain sites. Error message indicates incorrect address.
Can't tell if it's the Source address or the phone file address.

Still works on an iPhone 6s Plus that can’t be upgraded anymore, but newer versions of iOS don’t work.

Please do no popup ads while I am searching for documents. Why is it that companies think they can force ads onto paying customers. I’m okay watching ads when using freeware, but not for apps I’ve paid for. Bad form.
Rubbish compared to FileBrowser App
I've decided to delete this app after having it for about 8 years. I discovered 'File Browser' app which is a ONE TIME purchase for £7.99 and does everything better than GoodReader.
File Browser App have regular updates and also doesn't monitor any network connections or collect ANY of your data unlike GoodReader. I wish I'd known about File Browser before.
If you want to use one of the best iOS apps I've seen for iPad and iPhone, check out FileBrowser, read reviews and YouTube reviews you'll be amazed. It also plays music, videos, and able to read ePub books etc in one place - and connects to various remote drives including cloud based ones - amazing!
I'm delighted to have discovered the FileBrowser App, and so will you.
Ditch GoodReader for their dodgy intrusion of privacy!

Latest update is awful
I’ve been using GR for about a decade now. I’ve never had any problems, until this horrible update.
Zooming-in by double-tapping is annoyingly inaccurate now. Some document outlines don’t expand anymore. Moving a document into a folder by dragging it now opens the folder after the move (didn’t ask for it), at the very least it should be a toggle-able option.
I know you want to improve your product but don’t try to fix what’s not broken and don’t reinvent the wheel when it rolls perfectly. What a bummer.

Using it a long time
I had to look it up and see when I first bought GoodReader, it was 2012. I used it heavily at first to keep many files etc inside the app since iOS was so limited but things have come a long way since then. One feature that I always come back to is ‘crop’ - that way when I split screen while using my iPad for my public speaking outline and timer everything fits great. My outline I write in Pages and then print to PDF.

I’m astonished that after 27 years, it’s still incapable of working with EPUB and LIT files.
It doesn’t really like adobe protected PDFs either.

Update Really Slow
Update is MUCH slower than the old version opening PDFs and so on…
samba fail
Synchronising with desktop Samba folders used to work well, but it has become a total nightmare. No matter what configurations or permissions I try, there are regular failures – a single file which displeases GoodReader will block the whole folder from updating. Delete and reset to the same setup as other folders which still work? Nope, same vague error message, over and over.

I’ve used Goodreader for years, and the latest update makes it really frustrating. You keep on getting nags to upgrade to pro and messages that there are too many windows open. The way the workflow works for opening or adding files has changed because of the windowing, and what is my go to reading app is now really annoying. I’ll stick around for a while but if it doesn’t get better I will need to find an alternative. Previously, this would have been a 5 star app.
For reference, the workflow is opening files from dropbox or from an iPad download locally.

8 dollars just for bare minimum
After purchase, I tried to open a WebDAV folder, then I was prompted by a Pro Pack upsell window for 99 dollars or 24 dollars a month.

Ich benutze GooodReader jetzt schon seit vielen Jahren um meine Daten auf iPad, iPhone und MacBook über eine NAS zu synchronisieren. Ich bin nach wie vor begeistert. Gestern Abend habe dann die neue Version heruntergeladen….. gute neue Funktionen, aber die Synchronisation lief nicht mehr…. Ich habe mich dann an den support gewendet und innerhalb von 10 Minuten(!!!) hat mich ein MA kontaktiert und er konnte mir sofort helfen! Jetzt läuft wieder alles rund. SO geht Service!
(Nebenbei: Der Fehler lag bei mir. Bin kein Technik Nerd, daher hatte ich noch das veraltete AFP Protocol genutzt…..)
