Horrible app. If you are overseas and want to make an international remittance, they will deny you and hold restrictions on you until you are back in Japan.
App is much improved
I was a bit worried when I saw the other reviews, but it seems like Shinsei changed the app for the better. Everything is online, no mailed forms necessary, and honestly it was painless compared to other application processes. It will still take time, so don’t plan to finish the procedures in a week, but I have no complaints. It’s a great app.

Seriously. In order for an existing customer to start using this app, if you are already a customer, you have to download a document asking for permission to use this app, fill it out, and mail it.

Terrible service
I filled out the application in November 2019, it is already May 2020 and still I have not been able to make a transfer. Once you apply it takes 1 month for them to accept you. They send you a code by mail. Waited one month never received the code. Called Shinsei and they told me to apply again, it will take another month. Once they accepted me they told me I have connect the app to my Shinsei bank, that took one more month. Now it is connected and sent the transfer info. I was waiting and waiting and no response. Then they told me it will take one more month for them to approve the transfer information. It is already May 2020 and still have not been able to send the transfer. I gave up and decided to use another company and this company made the transfer in two days. Shinsei takes 5 months and counting and this other company took two days . It is a really embarrassing service. Why offer a service that is so so bad. People don’t waste your time. Other apps are much better. If I could I would give them zero stars. Everything I’m saying is 100% true.

Don’t even think about applying for this. Shinseibank is going down the drain..probably will go bankrupt.
Bad App
This is not a good app. Wish I could give negative stars.. Would be better to open an account at SMBC. They limit the amount you can send per month and is very painful to get the limit increased. Worst Bank i have ever dealt with in my life. Even worse than Bank of America.
Worst app ever
This is a horrible app and terrible process to sign up! I have been trying since August to set up but started with missing a hyphen in my address so my application was rejected. I then had to wait a week to get my account number and I’m still waiting for my overseas bank to get accepted so still can’t even use the app. The remittance amount limit is so low though that I doubt it is even worth it.
If you haven’t join Shinseibank yet - don’t do it! Please join any other bank they will be much better than this horrible bank with terrible service and resources!

Useless
Won’t let me log in. I am a Shinsei member but it doesn’t accept my log in information and wants me to apply for another Shinsei account via the app. No thanks, I’m on a time limit and I already have an account.
Wow terrible
I’ve been sending more than 800000 yen a month until they closed the phone service and after 2 months of unreasonable review and application process they approved my account for 300000 yen per month and 1200000 yen max per year? What does this even mean? Even with my 300000 yen per month limit I can ultimately only send 1200000 yen per year, which means no more than 100000 yen a month? Unbelievable.

Over 50 days and still waiting...
Shinsei bank has taken over 50 days to confirm my GoRemit application. After it was approved, the monthly limit is only 300,000¥. I’m still waiting on approval to increase this amount.
It’s a garbage app with extremely poor service from Shinsei. Just get TransferWise, their rates are better and they approved my account (with no limits) in less than a week.
