This app is actively working against you, disconnecting your lights constantly, connecting to incorrect WiFi, and never showing the correct devices. “Effects” look horrible and random aswell.
Amazing Light Display
Really beautiful selection of lighting effects. Virtually unlimited with the use of the AI engine for light scene creation.

I just got these lights yesterday and put them up and today they just stopped working on the app says trying to connect but it doesn’t try
Cumbersome app
I find this app extremely frustrating. I am unable to make my white background look white. It always ends up having a slight greenish tint or some other color. When you save a color that you finally like you cannot find it. You cannot go back and get that saved color. I am regretting buying the Govee backlight kit. Definitely not what I expected and it is all due to the app.

Mostly great
I have a ton if Govee products, bulbs, ceilung lights, hygrometers, power plugs. They all eork well. The reason for 4 stars instead if 5 is the app. I have two issues. (1) they keep changing things and I don’t always understand why. (2) they don’t really test releases. Releases often introduce bugs and there is no way to revert to an okdwr version. Right now using Siri to execute commands is a problem. The command executes immediately butb then is followed by a 5 ro 10 second delay before Siri says ok and returns control. They promised a fix but it has yet to appear. But I seill recommend Govee. Tech responses are quick. Fixes not so mych.

Another poorly designed app
If I need internet access to “log in” to an accout just to turn on a Bluetooth lamp three feet away from me, the designers of this system should all be fired. This is idiotic. I bought the lamp, get out of my way and let me control it.
Operation
The process from start to finish is relatively pretty easy. The hard part is deciding where you want to install the lights, fans etc.

I bought some water leak devices. Downloaded the app. It’s awful, has trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, can’t pair with devices, constantly freezes. Really bad.
Love these Lights
Control and color/brightness is Fantastic. I also use Hue lighting and for the price these lights can’t be beat
Great app and products!
This app can control and organize your lights and Govee Life devices. It has group controls and dreamview to hook up devices to your tv backlight or to music. Also schedules and timers. There are perks like points for binding new devices, posting on the community forums, sharing effects and participating in events and games. Govee also works well with my Google assistant to add to the smart home experience. It’s been with me for at least 8 years now. 88 connected devices and counting. Great stuff!

Widget is essential!
This app is a little industrial in feel and interface, but it gives a ton of control and customization options, and linking new devices is a breeze. For daily use, I strongly recommend widgets. One screen of simple on-off widgets is easier than opening the app and navigating through tabs and devices each time.

Editing review: THANK YOU for changing this back. It might not seem like much, but listening to customers and responding to feedback means a lot.

Please change how users change brightness back to how it was. Opening a different section, selecting a percentage at random, clicking confirm (or whatever) is WAY WORSE than what it was. I now have to arbitrarily guess what percentage brightness is needed when before it would change in real time.

Love Love Love my Prism lights
These PRISM lights are amazing!! All my neighbors are envious and install was smooth and easy!! I encourage you to consider “my tracks” for a permanent install. Color match was perfect and my wife is very impressed with how clean it looks!!
App still sucks
I’m not sure what they’ve done to the app, but every 2-3 days I have to delete the app, reinstall it and re-add my strip lights in order to change them in any way.
Update again:
App still sucks, I have to delete the app almost everyday in order to do more than turn my lights on and off. I’m getting really tired of this.

So far so good
I just got here, so I don’t have the feature adjustment issues some of you guys have (yet?), thus I’m enjoying it atp.
However, I had to deduct 1 star bc I am constantly getting the notification that the app location services are set to “always,” and being forced to change to “only while using,” which doesn’t sound bad, except I don’t want to have it open all the time for my location-based power on/off to work. I want the lights to turn off when I leave, and back on when I get home.
Please fix this!
