miserably optimized
the bulbs themselves are fine! the app to control them, though, is awful. several times i have gone to sleep with my phone fully charged and woken up to find it dead or nearly so. my battery diagnostics confirmed each time that this app was running in the background despite me having force quit it, and it has drained up to 100% of my phone’s battery in one single night, untouched and unopened. absolutely awful

Worthless app
Worthless trash app, you guys being a good idea to the market, and let fall short of greatness. Ignorance and stupidity go hand in hand, link all table lamps, but can’t link the speakers. Stupid.

App requires an account
Govee does not need my information and I refuse to set up an account just to control a simple table lamp. I will be returning the lamp and never purchasing another Govee product again. Remove the forced account creation/login. There is zero justification for requiring this.
EDIT: In response to the developer, you are deliberately refusing to acknowledge the fact that a basic table lamp does not require the level of security that you are implying. You are effectively creating a pointless “security” scenario in order to justify requiring information that you DO NOT NEED. The lamp will never be connected to WiFi, it will never be permitted to phone home, either through your app or anything else. Unless you’ve lied about what the lamp actually does and it has sensors or microphones inside it, then it’s just a dumb lamp. Perhaps I should get one to disassemble and see exactly what you’re selling…

I have a light timer the the barometer sensors and the water Leak Detection sensors and they are all easy to set up and very cost-effective

All Govee
I have Covid deck lights go patio lights, Govee TV lights Govee strip lights fall asleep work everything’s on a timer and works as expected. Love it.
Phenomenal
Best technology ever. I have outdoor lights on every night for 2 1/2 years so far. No issues!
Autorun is broken
My lighting schedules used to work fine, now they are very intermittent. My outdoor lights don’t turn off when they’re supposed to, and remain on all day and night. I will re-review once this functionality is properly restored.
