What's New in GPS Camera 55. Field Survey

5.2

August 20, 2026

■ Video recording, with location data built in ‣ Document inspections, surveys, sites, and observations with video that keeps its location data attached. When the work calls for movement, the same recorder is ready to capture the action without losing the field context. ‣ Need to preserve a specific detail? Take a location-aware photo while recording continues, then carry on with the survey. ‣ Open saved recordings from MENU > VIDEOS and return to the exact moment you need. If you missed or forgot to document an important place, use the photo shutter button during video replay to add that frame as a photo and point—with the location data from that moment. ‣ In replay, swipe to move quickly or slow down for frame-level precision, and see or change the active audio output. ◆ Choose the right microphone for every recording ‣ Choose Automatic, iPhone, Any external, Wired / USB, or Bluetooth for video. The camera shows the active source, falls back safely if it disconnects, and can notify you when the microphone changes. ‣ Monitor the live microphone in headphones and keep compatible music or podcasts playing. ◆ Export ‣ Share exactly what matters: export Full video or Selected range, then choose the untouched Original or a Stamped version with your chosen data overlays. ◆ Loop recording ‣ Use loop recording when only the latest part matters, and choose how much recent video to retain. ◆ Make every recording tell more of the story ‣ Add Map · QR-Code · Watermark · Speed · Pitch & Roll · G-Cross · Motion Quality · Video Diagnostics to give each recording the context your work, activity, or journey needs. ‣ Use Video Diagnostics to monitor frame rate, dropped frames, device thermal state, camera pressure, battery, and Low Power Mode during recording, replay, and stamped export—then refine mounting, airflow, power, or recording settings before heat or system load affects the result. ◆ Control the camera from Apple Watch ‣ Take photos, start or stop video, follow recording time, mute the microphone, and capture a still while video keeps recording—right from your wrist. ■ Keep the map around every point ‣ A map snapshot preserves the surroundings of each point for quick visual reference—even after you leave the place. ‣ To place a map directly on stamped photos, open MENU > Settings > Photo overlays and enable Map. ■ Bring back more detail when the light is poor ‣ When an inspection, site, label, or important detail is hiding in a dim interior or evening scene, Low Light Capture gives the back camera more time and prioritizes the iPhone’s best still-photo processing. ‣ Low-light photos can take a little longer, so hold the iPhone steady for the best result. If the scene or subject needs a faster capture, tap the moon to turn the feature off for the current camera session.

Teething problems sorted after help provided

Paying for monthly service, but frustratingly was unable to take date- and geo-stamped photos on-site when points/coordinates had reached more than 100 photos, whilst away from internet connection. Support made contact to try and help. Have to delete these points before leaving the office in order to take more photos. This doesn’t delete the corresponding main photos already taken, thankfully.
