Great App!

The history app offers a captivating journey through time, providing well-researched content, interactive timelines, and engaging multimedia. Its user-friendly interface makes exploring historical events a seamless experience. However, occasional glitches hinder the overall usability. With regular updates, it has the potential to become an indispensable tool for history enthusiasts.

FAQ

What does Great Places 2 See do?

This app provides automated audio commentary that plays as you travel to points of interest. It acts as your smartphone tour guide, offering insights into scenic views, local legends, historic sites, and more, all without requiring an internet connection once a tour is downloaded.

How does the audio commentary work?

The app uses GPS technology to detect your location and automatically plays relevant audio commentary as you approach specific sites. This functionality is similar to turn-by-turn navigation, allowing you to focus on the scenery.

How much does it cost to use the app?

The app itself is free to download. Each individual audio tour is a one-time purchase, with no monthly subscriptions or time limits. You can use purchased tours as many times as you wish.

Does the app require an internet connection?

No, once you purchase and download a tour, it works completely offline. This means you do not need Wi-Fi or a cell signal while traveling, making it ideal for areas with poor connectivity.

What kind of tours are available?

The app offers tours for popular scenic routes like the Blue Ridge Parkway and Natchez Trace Parkway, as well as local tours of historic counties/provinces. More tours, such as one for the Great Smoky Mountains, are planned for the future.
