Login problem
Unable to get beyond the login screen.
Continues to be insufferable
I first encountered this app and payroll system summer of 2023. It regularly froze, loaded blank pages, crashed on the sign in screen and was generally unresponsive.
Its now fall of 2024, and it seems little has improved. The eye rolls and muttering from crew upon hearing GreenSlate will be used says it all.
This is a broken system. Please stop subjecting crews to it.

Comes in handy!
When I’m not at my desk the GreenSlate app has came in handy on more than a few occasions. They have made continuous updates over the years and has been a lifesaver. It’s only been getting better. I can take care of almost everything on the app that i typically would do on a desktop computer. Saves time when on the go!

Amazing
I was on location with no computer or wifi but I was still able to do all my work from my phone.
Can’t login
As others have said, get passcode and tap login, nothing happens at all. This app was garbage years ago on a production and I see it hasn’t changed.
Won’t let me past the login screen
Entered my username, password, got a text with my 6-digit verification code, entered that in, and nothing happens. Just stays on the login screen.

I love this app. Not sure where these negaive ranters are coming from. If you've used the alternatives you know this is as good as it gets.
Doesn't Work
Can't login. Enter login and password. Put in the code it sends via text and then nothing. Just doesn't login no matter how many times you try.

Picture this: You have about 2 YouTube videos worth of coding knowledge. You work in the entertainment industry. You decide that you want to become a payroll provider like Wrapbook since they do it so well and conveniently! You smash your face on the keyboard and slowly roll it left and right until you’ve created a marginally functional app. You decide to call it GreenSlate.

Worst Payroll Company
Clunky, dated, not user friendly. By far the worst online/digital payroll service.

Absolutely Horrible service
The laziest and buggiest payroll service out there. If you can get the app and or site to work for you have fun with the maze of the UI that they have setup to lead them into the web of excuses they spin to avoid paying you on time or accurately. This budget payroll company exists for the low to no budget productions that need to stall payments, get around union contracts, or just flat out try to avoid paying people. Have an issue? Give them a call and see if you can get a live person to give you a pre written list of excuses as to why you haven’t been paid. It’d always someone else’s fault with GreenSlate. Avoid if you can!

This app has sucked for far too long.
Automatic log in doesn’t work. It’ll read your face and then nothing happens so you’ll always have to manually input your email and password.
Speaking of password.. I know they want us to be secure but having to update your password as often as they make us is really frustrating.
Copy and paste passcode from messages only works 50% of the time.
It kicks you out of your start when you go to manage your direct and tax form settings. And then it’s not clear if it saved your tax/direct deposit info on the start form because it’ll still just say manage instead of whatever setting you have them to. Also sometimes it doesn’t save your I9 verification documents so you have to do it multiple times in one start form.
If this app worked better I’d be a bit more happy when companies offer greenslate.

Poorly designed, not user friendly and complicated
The best description is a BIG pain in the *** . Poorly designed, not user friendly and complicated . Some personal info shouldn’t be requested , I’m not confident of using it. Use it because the project require it to get payed. I encourage everyone to delete it after using it and CHANGE all username and passwords used.

It just doesn’t work.
After numerous attempts to create an account whether on wifi or cellular, I still haven’t been able to even create an account so I can get paid. Saying it’s “crapware” is an understatement and I never write reviews.
Employers please avoid
I have now spent the past week trying to get through my start up work for my current job. The online process is full of bugs and errors that make the process frustrating and most unacceptable. Forms that have been filled out already are showing as “not started” and I am getting messages from production requesting again documents that I have already submitted through the app. I have submitted my start work digitally on numerous past jobs, with zero issues ever. Yet, with Greenslate, I have encountered one headache and concern after another. This has been such a frustration that I will be wary of accepting future employment from productions who identify Greenslate as their payroll company. Considering the current COVID conditions, I may have no choice but to accept work regardless of the payroll company. But I absolutely dread having to go through this process ever again. Please correct these issues Greenslate and until then, I ask that productions consider other options for payroll services.
