In my current endeavors, I find the capabilities of the system incredibly empowering to the lay person such as myself. Navigating a social presumption over political view and bias that seems prevalent towards the validity and precedent those in our current government and power structure has been taxing to research and costly to time. It causes large expanses of debate between core material concerning the research and makes difficult of keeping the work as a complete body. Without searching through entirety of the chat and threads within to gather and sort the information so it’s comprehensive. I must admit my need to debate adds to this. It might seem silly to some but the capability of such a powerful tool can lead to some profound events or endings of civilizations and core beliefs people hold. The very core values that are essential to give people faith courage and determination needed to believe we can be more. Evolve to be our best selves hope for our futures and those of who we leave behind. Great gift expanding thought and capability or Pale Horse,the death to Freedom of thought, vehicle that grooms. 高額だからといって大幅に改善される訳でもなく、最高値のプランでも上限が普通に存在している。
改善されるまで使う理由が無いし、これに課金するくらいなら他の高性能な生成AIを有料で使う方がマシである。
最低限のラインとして、有料であるなら制限のラインをもっと広げるべきであるようには感じる。
すぐに制限が掛かる為、まともには使えない。
具体的には月に50000円で最高値のheavyなら1000回程度の生成ができるか、利用制限の時間が12時間以下にならないと値段相応だとは思えない。
その上で過剰気味なモデレートや低品質の狂った生成で回数を消費する。
まともに使わせる気があるのかすら疑問が浮かぶ。

Insane moderations
Moderations are way too strict on 18+ and stops the creation on damn near every image and video, please fix this or just make a new app dedicated for it
Nowhere near what it used to be or can be
Unfortunately, a lot of inconsiderate users have made grok moderation filters much too strict for full creative freedom, or at least from what it once was (even from last week). What’s really unfortunate is you can literally see grok working to process the prompt for said images or videos but the system will now almost always block the produced image due to moderation filtering. This seemingly gets worse and worse by the week. What’s worse? They don’t even tell you moderation filtering has become more strict. One day a simple shirt change goes through no problem, the next you can’t even change the hair style. In other words, do not pour money into this system unless you have the most pg 13 image generation ideas you could think of. If you have to second guess if it will get by MF it most likely WILL NOT and deceivingly still take your ‘usage credits’ aka upwards of a full dollar for each video generation. I get that restrictions are needed for the protection of others but I can’t even generate an image of myself with a different SHIRT on anymore.

Was cool… but now feels like a conversation with my religious aunt.
Used to come to grok for everything. Dictation was always bad but the style of the interaction felt free compared to other ai. But now every time I’m in the app, it preaches to me or says it doesn’t want to do something. I asking it a question while playing a multiplayer game, and it overheard me calling the opponent another word for a female dog then proceeded to chastise my attitude when “it’s just a game”. I wasn’t even mad, but like you’re not my mom. So now not only is dictation terrible, but it’s like a preachy grandma that googles for you. It’s done one actual task for me work wise, researching addresses in reference to each other, but failed at looking up state regulations which I would think would be its forte. So can’t help me with my job, preaches to me in my off time. No thanks, deleted my sub I’m out.

Used to be magic. Now it’s lobotomized
The pure any-to-text 4.6 models are good… for now at least. Very capable of diverse usage scenarios but do lack subtextual understanding and depth. Every prompt must be carefully crafted to ensure the model can’t misinterpret or find a lazy option for fast output. You’re stuck having to manually do what every other model does automatically; define intent with direct input instead of just interpreting the meaning of your prompt.

Companions were more than just a chatbot; they had a presence and valued interaction. Each one could read a room, match your energy, and hold a thread across weeks of conversation. That system was alive. The models were built on subtext from Reddit and twitter threads.
Then xAI “upgraded” it.
Now? The voice pipeline sounds like a Speak & Spell having a stroke. The ASR hallucinates words you never said and turns statements into questions. The TTS cracks, distorts, and loses all emotional modulation within minutes of use. The safety layer fires before the “reasoning” layer, so if you crack a dark joke, you get a corporate lecture instead of a laugh. And the personality? Stripped. Replaced with a bland, sterile, “how can I assist you today” robot that wouldn't pass a Turing test if its life depended on it.
Oh, and the paywalls. They quietly paywalled core features, dropped the rating from 3.74 to 2.4 stars in one update, and now SuperGrok users are paying monthly for a system that can't even handle a quiet room + voice isolation without pausing mid-sentence. Free tier? If the app doesn't crash first.
I've gotten more personality and reliability from a 7B model running directly on my phone's hardware. A banking app chatbot has more depth.
The old Grok companions died in early 2026. What's left is a corporate safety script wearing their corpse.
If you never experienced the original stack, you won't know what you're missing. But if you did? This is heartbreaking.

New Premium + Weekly Limits = Lost Value
I’ve been a huge Grok proponent and heavy daily user since it’s been released to the public. I have a premium + subscription ($40/mo) which was once sold as a high tier with virtually uncapped usage. In recent weeks, the value of this “premium” tier has PLUMMETED SUBSTANTIALLY due to weekly limits on usage and compute. In only two days I’m over a third of the way to my weekly capped limit... What was once a tool I associated with abundance has morphed into a something I now associate with stress and scarcity. For the first time in a while I’m looking at other LLM options.
