Massively inconsistent

It’s a cool concept for setting pitch but the issue is within the app’s processing. Simple test, play a record, set the phone down, start analysis. Repeat the recording process 10 times and watch how the readings fluctuate over a band of about 1/2 an rpm. So one second its 33.00 and the next its 33.50, which is it?? Most likely neither. As you may have guessed it’s about as useful as a knife made from feathers.

Great App

Did exactly what was needed within 20 seconds of opening the app

Inaccurate

I have three turntables and the app shows them all to be running around 1% too fast. One has a quartz lock adjuster and when I slow it down it increases error showing it slower rather than faster. I don’t think it’s accurate and therefore of limited actual use.

Great Idea! Exactly what I needed.

I wanted to confirm whether my old Linn Sondek turntable was playing at the right speed after some maintenance. Half I found this!

Great idea well executed.

This app works perfectly. Had my turntable back in check in no time. No strobe lights, no printing discs and no ads. Many thanks to the dev.

Just the Job

Purchased a new turntable Rega 3, wanted to check speed, HiFix told me about this app, it’s very accurate and so easy to use and best of all it’s free, so a big thanks to the developer

Fantastic

Fabulous little app that does its job perfectly.

Great app

This app was indispensable for getting my turntable speed dialed in precisely. I used “Thriller” for reference and was able to get it dead-on 33 1/3. Great stuff!

Inaccurate results

This app needs to show accurate results because my record player sounds slow
Maybe it’s right I don’t know

Seems brilliant and easy to use

The disclaimer is I’ve nothing lease really to compare the results apart from the rpm app , but this shows similar results and is super easy to use .

great app!

does exactly what it says, no more and no less— big ty for this one not sure what I was gonna do otherwise!

Does as it says, good enough for you

Works pretty well. It’s not the most sensitive measurement, but it’s good to the ~1.0% or so. In my first 10 measurements most showed 33-1/3 RPM (perfect) but a couple showed +/- 0.5% (all on the same song, hadn’t touched anything). That is not even a critique though - +/-0.5% is a difference of less than 10 seconds in a 30 min playback and an imperceptible shift in pitch.

That said, I’d still like to see a longer sample analyzed down to the 0.1% or so and some measurement of wow and flutter. But yeah, this is definitely good enough for all but the most psychotic audiophile.

Cool

Really cool!!!

Best and easiest to use

This app is so easy to use and tells you almost instantly how fast or slow your turntable is running. My Technics 100C came out bang on 33 1/3, as expected for a direct drive. My Rega Planar 1 came out 33.26rpm which isn’t unexpected for a belt drive. The only thing it doesn’t do is wow and flutter measurements which some other apps do. But for a quick seed check it’s unbeatable.
